Unless the celebration was exclusively for Hindus, there's no reason why meat shouldn't be served. Starmer may have wanted a cocktail sausage or sausage roll. :)

Is there no limit to this Government's attempts to mislead the public ... Ms Reeves took to lying on her CV before the election and has now 'corrected' it having gained office. Well that's OK then, admit to the lie after the gain has been achieved and all is OK.

Only the right wingers care about it chief.
She's Chancellor, ,suck it up.

I'm more baffled by why she wants to merge council pension funds. There is a definitely a 50-50- split over whether it's a good idea.
I can see the economies of scale and reduction of admin costs overall, but the counter seems to be there aren't enough big projects to invest in and the bigger the investment the bigger the impact on people's pensions if it goes a bit tits-up.

I know, left wingers expect lying and cheating by their own!

Don't see why a Chancellor who lies should not be accountable. I seem to remember many approaching Boris with that excuse ... sorry I forgot, the principles applied to Boris don't apply to Labour Ministers ... my mistake, sorry.

No, that's a fair point. But he did it first and tbh who hasn't fibbed on their CV?
I've sort of done it. When I realised I was the victim of ageism I rejigged mine to imply I was 30 something. Got interviews and was greeted by the same stunned look when I showed up as a 50 year old.

But red this rabid rant and you see what I mean about right-wing bias.

This amused me immensely - "The truth is that this government has proven itself incapable of delivering the prosperity and security that Britain deserves.".
How many months has it been since they took over? Is it 14? Dunno why 14 jumped into my mind there.

'doing it first' is my point. Just because someone did something first AND was attacked for doing it doesn't absolve others from doing likewise ... it is hypocrisy of the highest order!

BTW I never 'fibbed' on my CV because as far as I was concerned if someone applied to me for a job and 'fibbed' on their CV I would tell them I don't employ liars and terminate the interview immediately. "You never get a second chance to make a first impression" and in this case their first impression would have been that the applicant was a liar.

Your claims of "right-wing bias" simply confirms the double standards Labour and their supporters apply. Such rants against the Conservatives from Labour were many but they don't like it when the same standards are applied back on them. Angela Rayner being a case in point. When Boris was just being investigated by the police she screamed that he should resign but when she was being investigated by the police she didn't consider such action applied to her.

That's the bleeding edge of politics.
I think both of us despise chicanery but I don't remember you condemning BJ or any of the other Tory transgressors.
If we could meet in the middle and condemn any politician that doesn't do their job or exploits their position for personal gain rather serving their constituents or the govt then we would be on the same page and I will slag off Labour miscreants if you slag of Tories.
Perhaps we should construct a league table of illegality/gaffes/idiotic policies/nepotism?

Boris was a very silly boy and the media saw blood and went on a frenzy. He was castigated for wine and cake with people he spent his working day with and breathed the same air every day and found 'guilty'. Yes he broke the letter of the rules but the chance of infection because of mixing at the 'party' was very low, such infection could have occurred at any coming together in any of the working days. Compare that to Starmer who had beer and curry with people he had never met before, he was exchanging air with them for the first time so the risk of infection solely as a result of being with those people was much higher than Boris's action. But he is not found 'guilty'. Double standards in applying the rules ... you bet. And don't forget the secret Labour snitch who cowardly did not step forward and own up to such.

Anyway I am amused by the attitude of slang off the opposition but when they start slanging off your side then call foul.

So that's a no about meeting in the middle then?
Sorry about that. I'm ISTJ on the personality scale. So I like structure and stability and co-operation.
ISTJ's are the biggest % of the population at 16% (apparently) but I recognise other types may contribute disproportionately more.
BTW BJ's protection of Pincher.

There is no middle to meet in. Exposure is heavily geared towards the party in Government as Labour found when the Conservatives were in power ... hardly any Labour misdemeanours came to light in the media. So now we are at a stage when they will be exposed you want me to pass the candle to you to (not) expose them! Nice try. :D Your advantage at the moment is there are sooooo many being exposed that I just don't have the time to cover them all.

And I have no idea what ISJT is about but I doubt I will attach much weight to where it comes from, probably some mind reader who thinks they can tell me what I am likely to think (we have enough of them on this forum! )

The govt of the last 14 years are the biggest bunch of incompetent, nepotistic, corrupt tossers we have ever seen. But I'm happy bring down any Labour politician that break any rules. Fibbing on your CV about a job you had 15 years ago is slim pickings and shows how desperate the right are now.

I'm sorry I didn't realise that crimes become less important over time, I always thought a crime was a crime and in this case she committed crime when she composed her CV not when she had the job. I expect she redrafted her CV when she saw a possibility of becoming Chancellor and thought "economist" would be better than "retail banker". It shows the type of undesirable person we have running the countries finances. She would rather give train drivers a £10,000pa pay rise and let pensioners freeze to pay for it ... just imagine if the Conservatives had done that ... Double standards!

Anyway the way this lot are going they will achieve in 1 year what the Conservatives were accused of over 14 years.

Gareth Wyn Jones calls Starmer a coward 6 times while being interviewed on air by the BBC for running out the back door and not meeting with farmers. Seems there is allot of anger building in the UK farming community.

Farmers are an impossibility for any politician Archery;

When the summer is too dry the potatoes are tiny and the spud farmers want government money while the corn reaches 8ft.

When the summer is too wet the spuds are the size of pineapples but the corn is only 2ft tall and the corn farmers want government funds.

When the summer is standard both are regular harvests but supermarket prices say they need government funds or they'll be operating at a loss.
