Is nobody going to discuss the fact that Chelsea tried to sign Claire Balding for £60m for their women's team? For me that was the real scandal.

Perhaps I'm missing something but that could be aimed at anything, or if it was relating to the trial it could be aimed at either party.
His lawyers have said it was aimed at BJ!

Even if it was though its poor timing and he should have known better.

See? No resemblance at all!

My gut feeling is Neville has overstepped the mark. But in a way that is so ambiguous that he's not in trouble. The only link seems to be timing of his post on the day the trial started.
I would love to hear his justification for "apparently" accusing the Glazers of being liars.

Looks like the ref has already lost control of this game

MOTD bunny again. "Foul" on Chelsea's Mendy to disallow West Ham goal is an atrocious decision , particularly in the current climate of leniency. No foul play about that 50-50. Credit to both players. No credit to the ref or VAR. Its flipping feeble how we can't get these footballing decisions right. I'd like VAR to explain how that is a foul.

I'll get my little soapbox out again....

VAR isn't the issue but the idiots interpreting it are. It's really very very simple, if you need multiple replays of an incident then by definition it cannot be clear and obvious so just carry on with the game and stick to the on field decision. The powers that be made a big song and dance when VAR was introduced that it wouldn't be used to re-referee the game but that's exactly what's happening. Instead of VAR checking for a clear and obvious error they're looking for a reason to change the decision which is not what VAR is supposed to be used for.

My other issue with VAR is watching the Merseyside derby yesterday why is it still taking so long to determine if a player is offside or not? Coady's goal took three minutes to be disallowed.

I'm not somebody who thinks VAR should be scrapped but it should only be used to identify clear mistakes, which everyone can see after just one or two replays at normal speed.

The very act of asking the referee over to check the screen surely proves that it's not a clear and obvious error. If it was, the VAR guys would simply make their decision known within a few seconds. The problem is systemic - the VAR guys need rules imposed in order to make a rapid, almost instant, overrule of the referee or else do nothing.

The children got a new toy for Christmas, but two years on they still can't resist activating all the bells, whistles and flashing lights.

I thought the main purpose of VAR is to create drama and bring in more views, there's more twists and turns than a soap opera.

If any potential "match fixing" is going on, it's probably not towards or against any specific teams but towards maximizing profits.

How is Paul Merson still a pundit? The man's an idiot. Sky must be afraid to sack him in case he goes and throws himself off a bridge.

"The Premier League is to review the controversial VAR decisions at Chelsea and Newcastle yesterday with referees' body PGMOL as a matter of priority."

Can't wait to see what fudged mealy mouthed drivel they'll come up with.

Which is why we need to swap out all our existing refs.

Here's my vote for first in...

lol, now they're disallowing one of the goals of the season.

Only took them FOUR AND A HALF minutes.
