Even if they lose tonight they could still top the group and play Spain next round.
However, if they could lose by a couple and Belgium win then they could come runners up and head on to the much easier side of the table with Poland, Switzerland, Croatia, Wales, Hungary/Iceland and 2 third place teams.

There is nothing we can do to avoid Spain. If we make a miracle and we beat Spain then we meet Germany and France....

oh no, it's a prophecy!Mr Undercover wrote:oh yeah... and do you honestly expect England to progress much further, i'm fully expecting a pantomine 1-0 win for Iceland in the next round. Though its always ironic to be consoled of our delusions to see a winning England side by Liniker, Shearer yester-years team of not quite good enough.
Back 0-0, lay 2.5 goals get out half time'ish always a good formula in these type of tournements. As Ferguson used to say if he could enter Man Utd he'd win every year.
Actually what i meant to write is england will comfortably beat iceland. Lets face it if they don't they deserve to go home.

Oh, and my prediction for the rest of the tournament:
Quarters Eng v France
Semi Eng v Germany
Final... Ahem, winner of previous game will win championship.
Expect lots of last minute goals as most remaining team deploy park the bus strategy.

This year has been the worst! It's like all your mates are going to a great party and your not invited.
I was 21 years old the last time we made it euro '96 and the England song had the words 30 years of hurt in it, try being a Scotland fan for the last 20 years
20 years on and i'm still trying to forgive Gazza for that goal.

look on the bright side tho, we are angst-free about the results in any major competition and can sit back and *enjoy* the drama, no matter what (and no doubt will do for quite some time)! - lolmarko236 wrote:This year has been the worst!
