It could also be someone (unlicenced bookie?)accepting bets for Arabs and hedging on BF, it could explain why at times he seems desperate to get the full amount matched - even reappearing in-play.

When you hear what some of these rich businessmen lose on a trip to Vegas for the weekend the amounts of money we are seeing is like loose change in their pockets.

Wouldn't it be great to have a Betfair mole

I kind of agree with this. In many countries including the country I spend most of my time, gambling is illegal and yet its unbelievably popular and people like to bet big. The punters dont look for any value and take whatever odds are on offer. UK horse racing maybe isnt that popular in my country but Im sure it would be just as easy for someone to take bets in an arab country.

That was very funny to75ne! but this guy isn't any madman or solicitor, Arab or otherwise. He is very specific when he enters and his bets tend to match certain criteria..viz he is technically trading.

I have checked all his "bombs" today and the amounts he is betting varies from race to race but always brings the odds down to a technical indicator. THis doesnt tell me when he is likely to strike which can be any time between 4 and 1 minute out, but it does tell me that he is no amateur or footballer with deep pockets.

If his bets are precalculated, as I believe they are, then I have to conclude that he is either a trader or a bookmaker or the "bombs" are an internal Betfair process. He/she does know what they are doing.

I totally agree with you james1st. I have always thought he is a professional and know what he/she is doing. If I did not understand his strategy, It does not necessary mean he/she is a fool.
There are people around that makes us look we are betting pennys...here the prove of it

This was 20 seconds in play on an Irirsh race where there was no money. He bombed this from 2.5 down to 2.0 in a single spike for roughly what the average person earns annually in the UK, having just turned over from watching another horse where he'd blown a similar amount in the previous race.

If this guy knows what he's doing I'm Donald Duck!!

Check my picture again, he traded HALF MILLION in running between 1.41 and 1.48. So what is 30K for this people? If he is making big money, I doubt we will soon find out what he/she strategy is about..

I don't think we will ever find out who they are or if there is any profit being made. However, I think he is having an effect on the market even before he bombs. I am sure some large swings inwards today were from people like us trying to get a back bet in before he hit.

So he is effecting the market just by being there.

I did miss an hours trading between 2 and 3 but he gave me a good days profit.
