Below par performance - managed to scrape just over $220 today. Way off my target, also kept running out of stakes in the Cox Plate.

And now for the big day next Tuesday. A bigger bank wolud sure help!

Looking at my last year's spreadsheet the Melbourne Cup matched $5.3m pre-off.

That's a very good result Switesh, nothing to be unhappy about! I made $85 today using relatively small stakes and had only one losing trade all day, so I'm happy about that. FYI, there is the Bendigo Cup on Wednesday so that should attract some money (probably the same as the Geelong Cup).

Bendigo cup did about 350k in pre-off. Other races at Bend, & EFrm did about 100 - 150k in pre-off.

Pretty thin overall. Here's an example from the last at EFrm. The drift took place in last 3-4 mins.

I skipped the last race but did you notice on the 7th at Efarm the 20k on the back side? Obviously it was spoof and when it disappeared, every man and his dog was trying to lay it. One thing I did notice at EFarm is that I think the majority of liquidity are bots that focus on the change in WOM. How did you do today Switesh?

Yes, noticed the 20k spoof. Was busy hammering it. Stupidly obvious. That was the only good trade. Didn't get anything else.

Yeah, bots can be pests when they jump ahead, I usually place a few scattered smaller stakes/trades with 1 tick offset to trap them. Not very scalable, but works in weak/thin markets for small profits.

I'm trying to create a bot for EFarm, and I want to create a bot for UK soon. I'm currently trading Aus pretty much everyday so am too tired to stay up for UK, just on that, what program do you use to record your trading?

The UK markets behave in a different way. The Aus markets are years behind so be careful.

Couldn't agree more.

Market maturity is miles apart - Liquidity, volatility, & fill-rate are key factors that differentiate the two markets.

I agree completely with your posts as I have traded UK for a few months now, but the bot I wish to create will not be the same as in Aus, as the liquidity etc is very different as you say.

Mooney Valley is on tomorrow evening.

Will be a long session beginning Fri late-evening with MVal, early morning Sat with Santa Anita and then in the afternoon with Flemington, (will do a bit of UK on Sat night as well) and back Sun early morning with Santa Anita again.

I've got my Powerade and am ready for the marathon trading session ;)

Thanks for that Switesh, forgot all about the Breeders Cup meeting, should be very good trading there. Looking forward to Derby Day on Saturday as well. What a weekend!

Good trading opportunities today, nice $200 profit, hopefully I can replicate that and more on Derby day. Switesh, do you know when the Breeders Cup is on, does it start Fri morning or Sat morning?

Thanks.

Been trading since 12:30 pm pretty much non stop. will go through to around 7:30am and then catch some sleep, up at 12 ready for the afternoon and go through to the end of the Breeders Cup.

Might have Sunday off :)
