Hi eightbo, welcome back. Are you sure you get a one week grace period? I haven't heard that and wouldn't fancy chancing it.
From the email
Customers will be contacted directly by a Betfair representative and informed on the first occasion on which this Turnover Charge would have been payable.

Customers who previously had not incurred Turnover Charge will also be afforded a one-week ‘grace period’ designed to give them an opportunity to refine their betting habits should they wish to do so.

It appears you've received a different email to me. My email doesn't say that. :x The T&C says:

11.8 How will I be notified if I am required to pay the Turnover Charge?
11.8.1 Customers will be contacted directly by a Betfair representative and informed on the first occasion on which this turnover charge would have been payable.

11.8.2 Customers will also be afforded a one-week ˜"grace period" designed to give them an opportunity to refine their betting habits should they wish to do so.

11.8.3 A summary report of an individual's weekly activity will also be available if requested.

It doesn't clearly state that the grace period is for the new charge and not since the turnover charge existed.

Your email isn't exactly clear either. It implies you have a grace period with "would have been payable" but I'd rather they actually said there's a grace period for the new charge.

I'm gonna have to download my bet data and calculate profit per turnover. Got a feeling the league table could turn on its head.

Good luck. You have to apportion your commission per race which can be a challenge for profit on t/o calcs.

Yeah the maths of that would hurt me. I just scalped Rosehill for my best scalp result ever...a fond farewell
Edit: Then again on my stakes I'll probably stay below the threshold for a while but man...my profit on Rosehill is 3x anything else..

Commission will be irrelevant in the calculation because it's a fixed 10% across all NSW markets.

Whenever I trade TC markets it always feels like I'm biting the hand that feeds me, not generating near enough commission to offset what they have to pay to rnsw...maybe they earn a bit with me/us generating liquidity for regular punters though, but I imagine they could do without us with the costs being so high

Yeah, I've always felt the same way. But as long as they keep feeding me I'll keep biting.

I doubt it's a coincidence that it coincides with the return of UK racing. At least from next week I might find myself going to bed while it's dark.
