That's not the way I read it Rik. It says customers who previously had not incurred Turnover Charge. So my read is, if you have, then you don't get the grace period (ie that customer has already caused Betfair pain).
Posting again the relevant portion of the text of the email I received:
Customers will be contacted directly by a Betfair representative and informed on the first occasion on which this Turnover Charge would have been payable.
Customers who previously had not incurred Turnover Charge will also be afforded a one-week ‘grace period’ designed to give them an opportunity to refine their betting habits should they wish to do so.
Agree, I am very curious. Put together a few of the people on the forum and my expectation is that we would easily get to 10% (probably 15%) of the matched volume (based on posted p n ls from time to time and what would need to be traded to make those p n ls of those various forum members).
However all action in a market causes other actions (including non-actions) and so it is always possible that our non-participation will cause other things to happen that wouldn't have otherwised happened and maybe the whole shebang doesn't miss a beat. Time will tell.
That makes sense. I missed the word not in your original post.gazuty wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 12:08 pmThat's not the way I read it Rik. Well I'm hoping that whatever's happening keeps happening. Since lockdown my auto (dogs and horses) in Aus is returning more than Aus and UK combined used to and the trend is rock solid with an r-squared of something crazy like. 0.92 over the last 6 weeks. I don't trade any NSW races so I'm hoping even more volume might filter down to the other states, or at least hold up when the UK interest declines.
so "aggregate value of matched back bets" still means if you have £10 bet on an odds 50 longshot is the same £10 "value" as £10 on odds 2 right? just add all back amounts together regardless of odds? actually they upped it from $2000 to $6000 so not all badgazuty wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 12:08 pmThat's not the way I read it Rik. Have you ever looked at how much you've traded on a market? I've sometimes traded near £1K to make £10.rik wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 4:00 amso "aggregate value of matched back bets" still means if you have £10 bet on an odds 50 longshot is the same £10 "value" as £10 on odds 2 right? just add all back amounts together regardless of odds? actually they upped it from $2000 to $6000 so not all badgazuty wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 12:08 pmThat's not the way I read it Rik.
