I got access to citibet exchange in the last week or so, having used it 5 yrs ago.

The interface is pretty complex, as they pay based on tote returns, and because of the tote over rounds you have to adjust what price you will pay based on a discount rate.

The liquidity on Hong Kong racing is mindblowing .. a good deal less on everything else.

Not sure its that much use for most traders.

I think it is for most people.

I cant see how u can have a decent bet on a ropey tote. Sure.. the depth in HK etc is fine, but for everything else, you are really
in the lap of the gods.

I cant especially see an angle .. unless u had inside info etc.

much luck today
That brings back old memories. It's been about 8 years since I've had an open position like that, not for that amount though. :)

I've just had a look at their T&C. They devote a full six words to responsible gambling. :)

Is there any way of looking at the markets without opening an account?

No, the chart wouldn't look too unassuming though, unlike his other bet spikes he had

For me it was different. I read they had video streaming for pretty much all the racing and got in contact with their main chat without knowing anyone.
Then an agent whatsapped me my login details and saying for „oversees customers only paypal and minimum deposit/withdrawal 100$“ between 11am and 1pm.
I never deposited but just been using that for video streaming since April.
Do they take out around 20% of the tote like other totes, or will they frequently end up with better odds than on betfair? Are the odds estimates relatively accurate?
Why are they called an exchange if its tote betting?
I read the first page of the help section trying to understand their odds format but decided until they suspend my account for not betting i wont bother.
Are you looking to punt outright with them and its worth it even for all the fees and dodgy reputation? thank you

It's complicated.

1. It is an exchange
2. The prices are based off tote
3. When you place a bet you dont know the price, but you agree with your counterparty that the price will be Tote plus or minus a certain %.
4. They take less that 1% (usually)

I am not at all worried by settling - if I was I would not even think about it.

Althou, when u login there are always accounts posted which have been closed for activities they deem not worthy etc.

I dont know what happens if u are a counter-party to that.

I was looking for an edge - but there is no API, or at least am not aware of one, and unless u know how the tote price will end up, its v hard to bet with certainty. Maybe if u automate the tote feed etc.

The interface displays discounts wanted by other customers .. so, for example, you are shown bets u can back at 20% discount to tote return.

U offer to back for $10 at 80% .. if it wins, u get tote odds to full stake. If it loses, u pay 80% of your stake.

There is also a limit to the tote price on the bid/offer (but dont really understand it), and suspect tote rigging on the minor dogs / harness etc could be quite simple.

There is a pyramid scheme, where uplink provides support ec, and gets a % of the turnover of accounts you introduce.

If u were a bookie in Hong Kong, paying tote odds, it would be a great way to hedge etc, at 20% profit. I cant see an obvious use for it, as Hong Kong is not on Betfair.
