Wasn't much confidence there to begin with tbh, after this restart
Today's Football
What I said in October I think we're here now at injury crisis point, losing Van Dijk and Nunez for today was too much, but most of these players are back next month
Many clubs struggling right now, even City seems to be having a blip and struggling to get any shots on target last couple games
Defintely a world cup hangover around also.
But Liverpool have problems even beyond injuries , the midfield looks garbage at times, even with everyone available. Defence an issue also
Klopp has a contract until 2026, so time to rebuild. But he has been talking lately a lot about the funds available, or lack thereof ...
Has to be the quadruple run hangover, if anything, easy to lose perspective on how many games they played overall, plus these stats are diluted by a poor start this season.Archangel wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 6:09 pmDefintely a world cup hangover around also.

Just feels like they're waiting for summer to overhaul the squad with new owners in place by then, but may have to play a season outside of CL, which would greatly impact these owners financially, but not the new ones luckily.

Forgot to say, with Klopp teams in general and the emotional/intensity football etc the pattern seems to be that the highs can go high AF but the lows can go pretty low as well.
Maybe same could be said for all teams but feels like it's more extreme with his teams with how draining it is to reach and maintain such consistency.
Now I've calmed down and looked at the replays. LFC were abject, Brighton fully earned their win (TAA was toasted by Mitoma).
And for Southampton, who would you like to pop up in the box but Ward-Prowse. Lovely shimmy.
And then top it off by burying a free-kick.
Everton did everything but win. And that's the raison d'etre of an EPL team and they have a far bigger budget than Saints. No hiding place for Lampard and the owner (not Kenwright , because I think he has done his very best for EFC over the years).
