It was one of the most stupid things he could have done. If it was a minor breach she shouldn't have resigned. She thought it wasn't appropriate for her to stay in her job last week so it's not appropriate now, the two-faced bitch!

He probably didn’t want to bring her back but like I explained he has to try and please those who could do most damage to him. Like it or not the ERG are powerful and recently blocked new gun restrictions for UK firearm owners.
It’s politics, none of them probably like each other, there all out for power, at any cost.

They have allot of power and very close to Boris and the Tory membership.
The police asked for new legislation for firearm owners because at the moment you need a licence to buy ammunition but no licence needed for buying the components and reloading the ammunition yourself. It actually very easy to do as many books available.
Basically the ERG blocked the changes in legislation the police asked for from even going forward to parliament.
It’s amazing so few have so much power at the heart of government.
I think their 'Chairman' Mark Francois likes to dress up as a soldier sometimesArchery1969 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 25, 2022 8:22 pmThey have allot of power and very close to Boris and the Tory membership.

I have heard he also like to dress up as something else at certain parties too.Archangel wrote: ↑Tue Oct 25, 2022 8:37 pmI think their 'Chairman' Mark Francois likes to dress up as a soldier sometimesArchery1969 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 25, 2022 8:22 pmThey have allot of power and very close to Boris and the Tory membership.

Despite being a Labour supporter with deep revulsion for Johnson and unable to think of Truss without laughing my guts out, I was willing to give Sunak a chance, as he strikes me as more intelligent and honest than his two predecessors. But his choice of cabinet suggests he's not really in control of the party, bringing back some of the bums and laughingstocks of the old regime.
It looks like more of the same, more ammo for the Labour party and more likely the GE will materialise early. They won't get away with another leadership contest.

I can't comment on any of Rishi's appiontments except Braverman. That is one colossal mistake. Forget the ERG. Forget politics. That appointment is just stupid.Derek27 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 25, 2022 11:05 pmDespite being a Labour supporter with deep revulsion for Johnson and unable to think of Truss without laughing my guts out, I was willing to give Sunak a chance, as he strikes me as more intelligent and honest than his two predecessors. A person that resigned for breaking the ministerial code by sending an official document deemed “sensitive” from her personal email is now Home Sec.
Those words simply don't add up. FFS. What is our problem as a nation?
We're a nation of idiots that elect the very best idiots to run the country. People were talking about Mordaunt being more effective at PMQs than Sunak, but this just shows, there's no point in being a sharp-shooter if you give the gun and ammunition to Starmer.

Sunak's comments about Liz Truss's actions being well-intentioned are equally applicable to a Martingaler who's just blown his bank!
He only intended to feed his wife and kids.
Trust is earned, and I will earn yours.
Not by appointing a former home secretary who resigned six days ago for security breaches as home secretary you won't.

New leadership contest February 2023.
Boris, as the terminator once said, I'll be back.

New market formed. Kier Starmer 1.7 for next PM, but Labour majority in the next GE out to 2.3ish, from just under 2.
It's make or break time for Sunak. I don't think anyone would blame him if the country isn't in a good state before the next GE, and if he avoids cock-ups and keeps the ship steady he could improve the position of his party. Not a good start though, with his appointed cabinet.
In my opinion, his first problem is that come GE, Labour can blame the Tories for the state we're in, but he can't blame Truss or Johnson for it.
His second problem is, however good a PM he turns out to be, he's absolutely powerless to stop his MPs from resigning due to scandals such as fondling somebody's bum in a nightclub, inappropriate lobbying, viewing porn in the House of Commons, shagging your secretary, making sexual advances towards your staff, using cocaine, conviction for sexual assault; or going further back, telling a court your wife was paying a hotel bill in Paris when she was really in Switzerland at the time or winning a court case against a newspaper that claimed you made use of a prostitute and then found to be lying to the court, and needing time off to serve in HM Prison Service, etc.

I kind of get the decision to bring Braverman back. But it could backfire. I think she has some horrible values and referring to getting rid of "woke rubbish" will drive the wokes potty.
Anyhow it now seems the next GE will be as scheduled. Let's hope there's nothing domestically politcally newsworthy for a while.
Help Ukraine, try to reach out to Putin
and support the vulnerable through the crisis.
