If it's any comfort I lost a little on it. Thought it may happen anyway, but could see it wasn't so dumped the lot.

De Sousa on a four-timer at the moment at Sandown
I got stung there trading my expectation (support to come for De Sousa's 5th ride) rather than what I was seeing in front of me. Another lesson to go in my trading journal! :)
In my very humble (aka inexperienced) opinion, the time to back jock's 5th is just before they win their 4th. If you wait till it's being hosed down, the acca hedgers have already been there and then you're just looking at a std market, with a chance of some downward pressure possible, as Euler describes.

My discipline in general is fine but I've found that sometimes when I encounter a new scenario, which today was a jockey winning his first 4 rides, I can be too keen to get on and literally forget all the rules I usually follow. Sounds a bit stupid reading that back, but it's something within myself I need to address as I continue to build my experience / progress

Noted, thanks Shaun. I noticed as he won the 4th huge flurries of cash came for the 5th ride, that convinced me the support was "definitely" coming.

It would be more comforting to hear you'd lost a lot :) But I know you don't make mistakes like that so it's never going to happen.

I wouldn't thank me for any advice until it's been confirmed by someone who knows what they're talking about ;)

Not going to withdraw much for the next few days to try and have more to lay with at Ascot.
Today's markets were about perfect for me but I fear that Ascot markets will be too big for my small bank any tips to prepare for next week?

LOL - it does make you pull your hair out. You spend all day figuring out which way to go from race to race only to discover at the end of the day that if you'd blindly gone in one direction you'd be just as well off.
Do you think though looking back that you could ever predict which way that would be on any given day>?

You have both back and lays to close? When was the first bet place and any criteria for if lay or back? Unless i am missing something..

This reads to me like it was just the odds movement between say, 5 minutes out and the off.

Peter tends to trade in the last 5 to 10 mins of a market so probs takes the price from somewhere in this time zone, all my trading is laying the favorite and i still came away with a very small profit yesterday, any newbies or people losing money should be looking at this sort of data if i was laying and trading at random yesterday i would have made a loss, but due to my bot removing money when the market is going against me before it is matched has made a massive differance to my trading.

Anyone laying the favorite's yesterday should of had alot of money being canceled, scratched or a few small loses.

Hopfully it's mostly a laying day today
:D
