whoever does the race planning should be shot -
3 nat hunt cards 5 minutes between 2 cards and 10 the other - then just to make sure there are gonna be clashes stick in an irish nat hunt card

In all fairness, it IS the NH season. So what do you expect?
The usual Saturday fare of 4 meetings in the Uk. Don't forget that Irish racing has nothing to do with the UK tracks, unless ATR persuade them to hold up other races.

I know it messes up when the money arrives, but this is what we have. We have to deal with it. But do not fear my friends. If the long range weather forecast is true, and we do have 3 months of sub zero temperatures, there will be plenty of time between each race at Wolverhampton :)

well i do expect that to happen but what annoys me is why cant they start the first at 11:30 (first at newc was 12:05)

if they could do that the extra 30 mins could be used to space the races maybe 5 minutes longer between races(assuming it all goes off to time), or at least give a bit of slack to help prevent the better races from clashing (but that would requrie the courses co-operating with each other - so thats a silly idea).

just annoys me; but at the end of the day i suppose the bha, courses etc, dont really give er toss about messing the flow of money for a bunch of scumbags(traders) :)

just hope the weather forecasters are wrong :(

I agree Tony. More could be done, not just for our sakes but to improve betting volumes which in turn will improve levy. It's not smart scheduling 3 mile plus jumps races 5 minutes before Class 1s. Also helps a great deal when one of the cards on a Saturday is an AW flat card. I know they have to think of TV and the courses etc but like you say, adding just half an hour onto the day and spacing it so that races go off say just 5 minutes later on each course would mean the punters would be at the courses longer and would have more time to spend money on course. That's just off the top of my head.

Today wasn't normal for a NH Saturday Mugsgame. There were far more delays to races for all sorts of reasons causing all sorts of clashes.

I agree. I was at Uttoxetter Thurs having a go at some course siding. Being still a relative newbie and only visited a course twice (including this one) in my life, I was surprised at the little gap between races. By the time the race has ended and then you have watched the finish again on the big screen, left your viewing point to get a drink or something to eat (food that resembled something that is), there is no time really to look at the horses parading for the next race, never mind seeing the presentation or placing your next bet if you are a punter, before you go back to your viewing spot. More time could only mean better profits all round. Surely the bookies on course would also back this whole heartedly. :?:

It it just my imagination, or has the Mad Bomber just come out to play?

I got stung by nasty spikes in a couple of races this afternoon.

How big where the bets you're talking about? Did all of it get matched?
