This has been the most dire football tournament I can remember. I imagine the top players are mentally exhausted after a season playing in 3 or 4 competitions. We're not going to improve the quality of football unless we reduce the quantity of it. But there's too much money to be made from football for that to ever happen.

I wasn't too disheartened with the Irish today. Very disappointed to see McCarthy start and not Hoolahan, McCarthy must be an amazing player in training every day to get picked, because he has shown little ability when the chips are down.
For the volume of possession and shots had, it could have been a much worse result for us.
If England overcome Iceland it should make for a great 1/4 final v France, not expecting much entertainment from the 2 games still to come this evening. Thankfully I'm on the early shift this week so I'll get both games in tomorrow

It may hard to digest but getting rid of belgium 2-0 in the group stage compare to Wells or elimanate Spain insted of Iceland feels so much better....Yessssssssssssss

It's not Iceland that playing well, it's only England that is absolutely rubbish...good luck on the second half..
