Nice one Sam, glad to hear someone has done OK today. Personally, I've had my worst day for 5 months today, shame after such a good week.

I found the markets just too jumpy today which has made me jumpy and I can feel myself starting to go on tilt, so time to stop for the day, admit defeat and go and enjoy a few pints instead.

It was a good saturday for me. Was £600 up during the day but finished £500 for the day (I've done 31 markets). Great end to the Cheltenham week, making my best week ever. I guess I was just in the zone today.

Anyone have any idea what to expect from the week ahead? Should volume have picked up to normal levels by monday / tuesday? I remember previous saturdays after cheltenham being poor but can't remember the week after.... would be nice to know in advance whether its worth having a couple of days off :)

In my experiance it's generally quite poor in the week after Cheltenham unfortunately. You go into this holding pattern until the Aintree meeting and things are flat till the flat turf seasons really begins to kick in just after that.

It's curious, but I began to notice a few years ago that patterns seem to repeat year after year so you can fairly clearly predict prevailing market conditions in advance. I've worked out I can cut 40% of my activity and only lose 20% of potential by avoiding poor days / weeks in advance. This year I'm planning more time off to do other stuff as a result.

If you'd lived "up t' dales" when I was a nipper, you'd have had the much sought after title of "crafty b****r",

cheers, P

Just put £100 offer in the 15:15 at Chepstow, somebody took £5 and the rest stayed there for two minutes without a single nibble. Bit odd that isn't it, what's all that about?

awful market conditions today. Pretty much untradeable for me. Am going to drop stakes and if that doesn;t work I am going to leave it for the day. Not worth it when these sorts of days crop up IMHO.

It might pick up later in the day but one of the worst I've seen for a bit in terms of fill rate. I had 200 pounds at the front of the que at odds around 1.8 and there was 10k on the other side and 2k behind me. My 200 didn;t get touched and the 10k went and then another 10k came out of nowhere in the opposite direction. Its all just a bit wierd. I'm not sure why these sorts of things happen whether they are just too many traders or its all manipulated or betfair are messing with stuff or what. I know I probably won;t make anything when its like this though

Could Betfair be trading their own markets but with the advantage of being first in the queue? It wouldn't be a big surprise given what they have done in the past.

Finding it very tough here too. My win% today is abysmal.

I've found yesterday and today really hard work, small £20 profit for yesterday and I've been up and down all day (currently down).

I found Monday and Tuesday ok.

It's strange, I found the fill rate to be pretty good yesterday, although 2 cards were on RUK and we didnt have any Irish races in between
