It's been a good one, the tail end got a bit scrappy but it so often does.

I'm not sure about all this 'laying day/backing day' malarky. If you could say it at the start of the day instead of at the end I might take more notice. I just play them as I find them, the last thing I need is a preconception when the screen is telling me otherwise.
Exactly what i was thinking. You really do not want to go into a race and lay the fav for no reason other than its a 'laying day'.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2017 5:23 pmI'm not sure about all this 'laying day/backing day' malarky. Your reason to open any position should always be based on what your seeing in that market but if the previous half dozen races have all seen the fav heavily layed i would be looking for stronger reasons/indicators than usual before opening with back in this marketjjrrjj wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2017 5:29 pmExactly what i was thinking. I find I have to shrink the stakes down a bit on the jumps racing as the prices fly around a bit more than the flat
I'll rephrase that..... It was a day to lay. No preconception just an observation. For some reason I find it harder to start with a lay so day like this I find difficult.

Ok, can someone level with me here, why do we get "backing days" & "laying days"?, also did any of the more experienced regs on here find themselves "doing their nut" over markets when learning like I have today?

I'm the opposite. I have a tendency to lay first. Maybe that's why we don't seem to have the same good days.
I'd wish you better luck tomorrow but it might come at my expense

I hope we both win most days my friend! I mainly trade the fav and know you have to play what you see but it's my stupid human nature not wanting to oppose a fav. So overall it should then be 50/50 but I've a feeling my skill levels are far below your own. All I can say is as much as I lost today it would of been much worse 3 months ago which through gritted teeth is a win

Those Sailsbury Mdns were horrible for me.
