English players are always vastly over-priced, Rice is a good player but £105 million I'm not so sure. West Ham have done well holding out for that much, I was thinking they were pricing Rice out the market after City dropped out at 90 mil.

Read an article last week (might of been in The Athletic) linking the company who have 60% shares in Chelsea to Saudi PIF wealth fund who own Newcastle and Chelsea been unloading their big waged players to Saudi to get round fair play regulations on the back of it. Same company are currently trying to buy a French club also (Strasbourg I recall).Archangel wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 8:43 pmAs if the football transfer market couldnt get any crazier, along come the Saudi league and start splashing the cash. Ronaldo, Benzema, Neves, Koulibaly, Kante to name a few. A nice retirement home for these guys
Really looks like they are doing Chelsea a few favours![]()
Bit of a mess football finances and foreign money at the mo. Premier League just burying it's head in the sand as usual.
The Premier League are up to their necks in all this money. They usually go quiet when matters such as FFP are in the spotlightMichael5482 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 9:03 pm

Has anyone heard anything from Betfair about what's going on with the incorrect times? The website has the incorrect time until one hour to go and then update the page and presumably API, but I'm now at the stage where I have to check every match time on SofaScore.

England Women look like there missing a cutting edge up top. Portugal should be fodder for them.
Going to a World Cup need to be firing on all cylinders not sure Engalnd look like they are.

Very surprised Utd are letting De Gea go.
He got a lot of aggro early on in his Utd career and has been a bit wobbly last season.
But look at this and tell me he's not a great keeper.

Ten Hag wants to play out from the back and De Gea can't do that.greenmark wrote: ↑Sun Jul 09, 2023 2:34 pmVery surprised Utd are letting De Gea go.

I'm not saying I know better, more that I'm a bit baffled.jamesedwards wrote: ↑Sun Jul 09, 2023 3:35 pmTen Hag wants to play out from the back and De Gea can't do that.greenmark wrote: ↑Sun Jul 09, 2023 2:34 pmVery surprised Utd are letting De Gea go.

Look at the clean sheets De Gea has.
At times the Utd defence has been propped up by De Gea (as were Liverpool with Mignolet which is another controversial view).
But he has been sensational in my view. 32 is nothing for a keeper although you could argue that the springyness he had may be fading.
I imagine he will head home to Spain or rock up in Saudi, USA et al. Personally (even as an LFC fan) I will miss him.

A superb performance from England U21s on Saturday.
Spain tried every tactic in the book to stifle us, lots of fouls trying to slow the game down and bring us down to their level but we never got dragged in.
A very mature performance and deserving tournament winners.
