Betfair's transaction charges only apply to matched bets so you're free to kick as many bets as you wish into the markets. You'd probably get pulled up if you don't generate Comms and placed thousands of unmatched bets but the data charges went a long time ago.
That is incorrect:
At the end of every day, we add up all the bets you placed or edited (whether matched, cancelled or lapsed). If this number is in excess of 1000 in any hour of the day...

Sorry mate, but you are totally wrong there

1000 transactions applies to ALL bets, not just matched ones

Ooops, thanks for correcting that. I guess my generated comms must cover the times I've gone over 1000 as I haven't been charged and exceed the 1000 quite a lot.

It s worth noting each bet under the min £2 also counts as 2 transactions

The most irritating thing about using fast refresh rates is that there's always some idiot putting in a £2 order and then cancelling it within a second, and then repeating the process. Now that the streaming API is in operation and Betfair no longer charge transaction fees, he's probably operating on 10ms so I keep seeing the £2 flashing on the ladder.
I think you're describing BA automation users, all furiously botting and servanting, some of whom aren't idiots.

I'm not sure why you don't think BF charge trx fees, they most certainly do. Trade at more than about 1 every 3.6 seconds and you'll find out.
Sorry, I should have said data request fees.

There's so much racing on now I reached the point a long time ago that I just have to miss some of it if I want to eat. ;)

The backing on Part Exchange 13:25 is crazy, shouldn't even be odds on on form imo.

If you do your form theres some crazy value to be had.

I didnt see the race but that first at Plumpton must have been a VERY close finish.. :o
I thought Id post a screen shot I took in case anyone is considering a shot at automation..(this is using £4 liability stakes) with a twist
Now this isnt a big win as such, but I recon that if I had got one more match on clondaw, it would have a big win (by my standards anyway!)
I didnt post it to show the small winning amout, but to show how automation is perfect for recycling profits back into the market looking for a big payoff with relatively low risks
It actually surprised me reading through the log!
Was this in excel peter? I can't see how I can calculate the current profit on a runner to recycle it into the market with guardian. Maybe setup rules at different green totals?

Thx
Sam
Samo,
I had to back through the old post to see the image (attched for ref)
yes this was in excel. You wouldnt be able to do this from Guardian (The stake references cell C9, C11 etc in excel) and then uses some of that by adding it on the stake of the next bet if that makes sense? Snowballing or ratcheting as I call it
Amongst other things, It uses criterior to determine what profit you currently have on your selection (and if they are all green etc)
I think someone mentioned recently in the suggestions thread that it would useful if Guardian was able to check the value to equ to cell C9 in excel, ie the current profit on that runner? However that would only be part pf the solution

Incidentally, Ive very recently started useing Excel again on betangel on a spare account, the system basically replicates my bespoke BOT's. I would have though that they would be too slow, but the results are showing very positive so dont be put off by thinking that Excel is too slow.
Regards
Peter
