Impressive results. Well done.Aarondewit wrote:This is my first year trading full-time on Australian racing.
Currently at $34,620.05 profit thus far this year, which I am happy with. I still make some mistakes, such as leaving my closing bet too late (liquidity very poor in many harness markets), but I am improving everyday. I solely do manual trading.
I get the feeling there are very few traders in Australian markets. On Sundays, for instance, it seems like many traders have the day off and markets just don't move how I'd expect them too or should. The liquidity can be too weak.

Took a week off, just sat down. How long has this money been flying around??? I haven't seen these sort of numbers for a long time...

There was somebody having 15k bets on short priced favourites, taking unders in comparison to TAB's fixed prices. Then seemed to be leaving big chunks inplay. It was very different for a Thursday... There was also some colourful money late last night in the harness markets

Doesn't start until Monday, so there may be more fireworks to comegazuty wrote:There's a betfair comp on that may be contributing. Some people try to win by arbing.
Ah ha. For some reason I thought it started today. The comps are never long enough for me to win. I tend to start mid ladder and slowly head upwards. The dog of ry wrote:Doesn't start until Monday, so there may be more fireworks to comegazuty wrote:There's a betfair comp on that may be contributing. But the "secret" to winning the comps is to lay on betfair and back to arb. Not for me but that's the way.
Anyway hope the fireworks materialise.

None of the other competition's have interested me, but this one does. Not for the prizes, but for the fact I might get an idea of where I stand in the scheme of things? I highly doubt I'm in the top 10, but you never know, and it's not an easy thing to find out...

I wish England had the 2.00 kick off now. The racing is not going very smoothly at all!

I'm in this one and went in one of the earlier ones for exactly the same purpose as you. I think it's all strategy dependent. I expect the top ranks of the competition in any week to be full of punters. As the comp goes on the likelihood is that punters start to fall away. The dog of ry wrote:None of the other competition's have interested me, but this one does. What I would love is a comp that starts everyone with a $500 balance and goes for a year.

Whoever just matched that 85k has a massive pair of kahuna's! This is truly bizarre.

I passed on this one but in hindsight probably should have done the same. The dog of ry wrote:None of the other competition's have interested me, but this one does. I very much doubt I would be up there profit wise but ROI might be different story.
