Not really. The price will refuse to collapse completely because automations will assume the race is in pre-off state and will frantically be laying away at what they think is an incredible value lay.

Betfair site running very slowly for me right now.
Also lots of in-play football matches missing match data.

Had a weird incident at Fairyhouse, maybe the 17.40.
Placed a few back bets on a horse, but none of those orders matched. My offers further up the ladder immediately disappeared after placing them.
Checked my account, and there were no funds (was using full account and waiting on a couple of profits to come in from prior races).
However a few minutes later, the bets all suddenly matched. This was problematic as the steamer had rebounded sharply, and was heading towards my now re-appeared offers, which I could not cancel. I pressed hedge, but nothing happened.
About 1 minute before the race start, I was fully hedged for a decent profit (God knows how). But there were still phantom back orders on my 1 click screen, so I clicked 'take SP'. I knew that would un-hedge my position, but I thought it was the safest option. I was quickly able to re-hedge a few seconds in play.
My question is how can I mitigate this incident in future?
Not using full account is an obvious one, but would swapping to 'streaming' in this event make any difference?
Cheers

I had a similar problem at the same time with bets not cancelling so obviously a BF issue. Were you using streaming? I switched out of it and (I think) that solved the issue but could've just been co-incidence.
Not sure what the solution is really. The problem is it's hard to know whether bets have cancelled properly. However it's probably not wise to keep placing bets that don't hit the market as they may do so at a later time.
