Hi,

I am using the formula in Excel to calculate greening up. I am doing it this way as it depends on a few other conditions. Can anyone advise how I include commission on lay bets for this? This formula tells me how much to put on the current lay price to break even - however, I do not know how I factor commission for lay prices on this.

Formula:

Back price * back stake / Lay price

Grateful if someone can help me with this.

Thanks,

Nick

Can you have another go at explaining what you want? What you've said is a bit confused.

The formula you have given is the one to work out your stake to place a lay bet such that you'll make the same profit or loss in all outcomes. That's greening up.

Obviously there's no formula to allow you to green up so as to break even in all outcomes, otherwise we'd all be millionaires.

And of course if you break even then you don't pay commission.

Many thanks. I only require to calculate the stake taking the commission in to account. I know it won't always result in a result in a profit....it depends which way the markets turn.
