I am trading this snooker game, and have a few bets, on both selections.

This tends to throw out the P/L calc .. u can see, I am winning on both, but green up calc shows less than what I am winning, and has even been red.

Is there a setting somewhere, to fix this ?

1. When I see a green-up figure, less than the profit of a 2 selection market, its hardly re-assuring.

If the 'wrong' trades are made, on the wrong selection, the green-up figure often shows red, yet, u have a locked in profit. I will find an image, and upload later.

2. I know the calc, is tricky .. but, I dont see, why there is no setting, which BA calls, when a green-up is triggered. If just 1 selection has been traded, the green-up shud not be sent, if the mkt changes to a red, in the micro-second, before execution.

3. Ok, but, I am sure i have encountered issues with this, I will just have to re-create conditions.

//Just found it//

The setting, under staking, is per transaction. So, if u have a £200 liab, u can still hit it 5 times, and it will send £200 per click, giving a £1k exposure. There shud be a mkt exposure setting, as well as a per transaction setting.

4. The prevent trade closure setting, is v restrictive. U put in just one price .. say 40, but, if u are laying at 8, and it returns u a lay of 30, u are not happy. I would love to see some intelligence built in. If the last 5 trades, were within 10% of 8, it should not allow u, to lay 30, without a confirmation.

All of my requests are defensive. it is not easy to beat betfair .. just giving it away, is taxing.
Noticed you had this same image here so though best to answer here rather than take the other thread off the posters track

Assuming you have backed those selections you have effectivly dutched the book at under round (by backing at two different times in the match) if you where to lay both at two different times and get them both matched you could increae your green.

But to green them both up at the same time either now or at any other point in the match using the best lay odds avalible your going to lose some value as there not both going to drop low enough at the same time - long before they do others will be laying both sides to balance the book again

It can be confusing so ill try and write up a clearer example in next few days.

Thx.

I can understand, some value might be lost, but, it doesnt make any sense, that the 'Green-up' figure of £114.63, is LESS than the ACTUAL profit, of MINIMUM £122.29.

From here, there are 2 problems.

If I press the £114.63 next to Judd Trump, do I get a different 'Green-up' calc, than by pressing the £114.63 next to Shaun Murphy ?

AND

If the mkt is THIN, at the end of an in-play match, the Green-up often goes RED.

If this happens, u destroy many hrs or work, by giving away, huge chunks.

The green-up button, should be better called a 'Charity' button.

I want to test, on the demo mkt, but, havent time right now .. will be gone for at least 12 hrs.

I also havent got the time/energy to investigate this right now .. its not easy to replicate, and I need duplicate BA accounts, to set-up trades on demo mkts.

Lets just leave it on the back burner, and hope no-one gets too badly burnt.

I'd imagine they're calculated the same way as most of the trading software out there, in that they basically look to trade out your original bets rather than position.
