I have been paying about 18% PC for ages, but over the last 3 weeks that rate has increased to around 24%. Has anyone else noticed an increase in the PC rate? I trade almost exclusively on Aus horse racing.

I rang BF (in Aus) after the first increase but the person I had from BF didn't really seem to understand PC very well and had to keep referring to a supervisor. Is there a simple way of doing a rough calculation of PC?

Thanks in advance

Got me worried there thinking they'd upped the rates.

They don't have a 18% PC band so maybe you've just got more efficient and aren't benefitting from any implied commission in your PC calculation or the base rate on some of your markets has changed.

The PC bands are just 20,40,50 and 60% it's not particulary hard to calculate, just find your base rate then calculate as per the details on the website. Your PC summary page shuld hold all the details https://myaccount.betfair.com/activity/premium-charges and you can import your betting history to excel to do any checks in the calculations

Thanks for that Spreadbetting.

From my understanding of the (quite arcane) formula for calculating PC I should be at the 20% level. I accept that - not entirely happily of course, but I understand that the 20% band is where I am placed.
Why then have the last 3 weeks been at 24.25%, 21.51% and 25.13%? Perhaps it is to do with the manner in which I trade meaning that I don't generate sufficient commision to keep the rate at around 20%.
Can someone please, please get some form of competition going to take on BF??

cheers

You're probably having too few losing markets so that effectively pumps up the charges, I'm surprised no one's taken them to trading standards with the way they advertise the rates as 20, 40,50 & 60 as for most people they're a few percent above the advertised rates.

How does this work? Had a crap week so I thought at least I shouldn't get charged for it as surely commission would cover it.

Profit for the week = 173.35
PC page saying 334.12 after comms paid??

Am I just not understanding it right or am I getting totally ripped off?

But it says I'm paying 36.65 today? Maybe I'm just really tired and need some sleep

Contact:

The pc figure for week ending April 30, has not updated,
As it hasn't for mine.

Presumably some genius is looking at it.

This company continues to defy belief.

Mine has not updated.

PC has been in for years now, why is there still no running total for the week as it progresses? and why can't I find out how much commission I've payed for the day/week/3 months and so on..? Most companies tell you how much you are paying for a service..
