Always wanted to get a Motorhome at some point and do some travelling but i've been half tempted to go towards a narrow boat in recent years so will have to wait and see, but hope it brings you many years of pleasure once you get past this hiccup, and hope he get's over it quickly, probs the best idea to postpone though until everyone is clear and where there's more space and less shared air etc at home
Agreed on the space. It's just not worth any risk - and guidance is they all isolate for 10 days so keeping to the rules to prevent spreading.

We always wanted a motorhome but like the narrow West Country roads so seeing as a VW Tx was too small we split the difference and have a mid sized Sprinter type van. Lovely conversion though and will go most places. Drive away awning on the side and it's huge.

That does look good, tbh I'd also settle for a converted XLWB Sprinter, Jumbo transit or XLWB Iveco Daily, I've looked at plenty over the years like you its the smaller what I call traditional 'campers' like the VW I couldn't make do with.

Think some do look really good and they are great for a night away or if your a surfer etc and just need a base but for longer trips I'd need that extra space especially if I have to take the wife to :)

One thing I never understand is why people still bother with caravans
I have a VW camper and I agree they are a bit small but great for travelling from place to place and getting a normal car parking spot

Taken at Ashbourne Woods in Devon during our South West trip just the other week, fabulous place.

The one liner that the media love to spew... I'm putting it in the same bucket of one liners like Lets get Brexit done.

I was out and about this morning and from the 100s of people I passed there might of been 10 who were "thinking of others".

Yup. And this is the cusp of the pandemic. Seasonal advantage. 2 months hence , it could all turn nasty. I hope not. But i am sure as hell not going to be part of any spreading. As hard (and increasingly harder) it is to social distance etc. I'm going to keep doing those things because i care about those around me. Even if they are complete strangers to me.

If you're correct and it does turn nasty then you're fighting a wildfire with a hosepipe. Plus wasn't the purpose of the vaccine to break the link between cases & death? Which, although early days seems to have worked!.

It's none of my business what you or anyone else does, so by all means you do you... I'm not trying to persuade you otherwise, it just doesn't make any sense to me. Why go through all of this, be handed a vaccine but continue to live with a pandemic lifestyle?.

Agreed. Its a free country. Do as you wish within the law (or outside the law and take the consequences). I'm simply following the guidelines until told not to. I appreciate the more those around you don't do that the greater the pressure to follow the example of the majority.
I felt that pressure myself wandering round tescos with noticeably more people not wearing masks. I started thinking maybe they're right and I'm being paranoid.
But I'm pedantic so I'll carry on while you bask in your freedom. :-)

Here in Ireland and in the UK everybody who wants to be vaccinated should be fully vaccinated in the next couple of months. Hospitalisations and deaths after that point will be mostly people who for whatever reason didn't get vaccinated. When some of those people are lying in a hospital bed hooked up to a ventilator they won't be able to blame anybody but themselves. At the end of the day as the article below proves, you can't argue with stupid.

"They won't be able to blame anybody else but themselves". Well isn't that some outside the box genius revelation. Like anyone who made the choice to not get vaccinated thought for a second that decision was somebody else's... sort of the point is that it's their decision, I think they fully expect to own it.

I've had an ex who would do a lot of things wrong of her own choice and say why didn't you tell/warn/remind me?

Yeah that's what a lot of these people will do. If they get sick it will be somebody else's fault, not theirs.

I read an ONS survey of vaccine hesitancy.
https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulation ... o23may2021

It looks like the overriding reasons for not being vaccinated are fear, mistrust rather than bloody-mindedness. Mistrust of govt and pharms. Disbelief that vaccines can be created safely in the timescale we've seen. Concerns about effects on fertility and pregnaancies. Concerns about the contents of the vaccines eg non-Halal ingredients, foetal products. Theres a raft of genuine, albeit misinforrmed concerns out there.
The one thing that puzzles me is why people would rather risk covid than the minimal (judging from the millions of jabs now done) risks of a jab.
Of course I may regret that in the long term. But I don't think vaccines function like things such as Thalidomide. But, hell what do i know?
