Falling 300 feet. Thats clearly inaccurate. Maybe a 300 foot slope that left the pooch injured. One of our dogs lost his footing on a 50 foot nearly sheer slope, but he hit the bottom after a tumbling and a scrabbling. Ending with a sudden stop and a doggy "umph". Got up had a shake and was right as rain.
But a 300 foot fall is a ridiculous description. More like a series of bounces.

All the news channels are reporting the same, 300 feet.

A 300 foot fall is not survivable. As I said a tumble down a 300 foot slope would be remarkable. But anyhow if a pooch survives and is rescued I'm very happy.

Didn’t a dog once fall over the cliff at Seven Sisters and survived with 4 broken legs and pelvis, although I not sure how high that is ?

Depends whether he fell from the top or the valley of one of the seven cliffs, but I think they get well over 100 feet.

Souness has succeeded in swimming the Channel. I seem to remember he's had significant heart problems and he's 70.
Raised money for a worthy charity.
Fantastic!

I saw him on my local news with the child he was doing it for, and he was almost in tears when he explained his reasons for doing it. Great man!

Great? I don't know. I am an LFC fan so am biased. But my baseline on these publicity things is what does someone do that is tangible and valid. On that basis he's done pretty damn good. It's in the same bracket for me as Botham's walks or Izzards multi-marathons.

From what I remember, Botham needed to redeem himself after all the drug-taking and other things. His walk shifted the focus somewhat.

Dunno, if he actually walked from Lands End to John O'groats (and there's plenty of footage to suggest he did) he has my admiration. Regardless of the support he may have recieved. Thats a flipping long walk that requires planning and determination, even with support. 900 miles. I walk 40 a week in a good week.

I've just bought a small carrot for 3 pence! It's the cheapest purchase I've made since the late eighties when I paid 2 pence for a screw. :D
