Hi
Just wondered how many traders trade horse racing blindly. I have seen some of the pros videos and some say that looking at horse form will hinder your trading.
But I would think that its better to have a mental picture of the race as in horses that don't act on the current going or trainers that could not buy a win at the moment. After all you would not enter into a under or over goal market without seeing if its likely to be high scoring or low scoring game. Any thoughts ?
Trading Blindly
I'd say pricing in racing markets is a lot less rational and less easily understood statistically than pricing in football markets.
Prices get pushed all over the place in racing markets, not necessarily for rational reasons related to the actual probability of the horse winning. If your personal research is accurate and you think that a fair price for a horse is 4 basically you are acting like King Canute if you are backing against a persistant drift out to a price of 10 and having too firm an opinion (even if you are correct) will lose you money if you are looking to trade out before the off.
