I just use whatever pops up in Firefox for passwords.

I think the default for any potential issue should be to lock your account. It's so much better than logging in and finding you've got thousands or tens of thousands missing. I'd want mine locked anyway.even for the slightest thing and I assume they're giving Derek the same level of protection.
Last Pass was hacked years ago so people stopped using it, I also heard they got hacked again not long ago so may want to look into that
I think Chrome is fine, Google seems to have updated their password manager recently
And KeePass works very well too if you need a vault
Shame, I liked LastPiss, especially before going to bed.Kai wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 4:51 pmLast Pass was hacked years ago so people stopped using it, I also heard they got hacked again not long ago so may want to look into that

Isn't KeyPass a local/network database? I need one that synchronises across devices.
Local by defaultDerek27 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 6:13 pmShame, I liked LastPiss, especially before going to bed.Kai wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 4:51 pmLast Pass was hacked years ago so people stopped using it, I also heard they got hacked again not long ago so may want to look into that

Could have some sync options nowadays, not sure, I like it as a local vault
But maybe too much syncing landed you in trouble there, not quite sure what happened, good luck with BF and hope you don't get too much abuse for messing up
I saw a video on this recenlty, Naomi Brockwell, I think talking through all options. The last pass hack was via an engineer but didn't compromise the specifics, I think.
All have a vulnerability of some sort, but I never store any banking or financial passwords. They are all in my head. Less important stuff I put in a password manager.
I've started using Yubikey TFA recently and that's very effective and difficult to compromise.
On another note, Betfair closing accounts with the same address, must mean you can't open an account for somebody in the same flat or house. That seems a bit extreme?

The hackers got hold of customer data but it was zero-knowledge encrypted, so as long as you have a strong master password and change your important logon passwords every few months you should be safe from brute force attacks.

I personally like Roboform, it has more control over saving logins, can handle two-step logins (sort of) and you can edit autofill fields and choose which ones to ignore. The only nagging issue I have with it is that it doesn't allow you to save an email address without creating another "person". I like to think of myself as a man with five email addresses instead of a man with a serious personality disorder believing he's five people!

Easier and safer to just click 'I forgot' and you can set up a new one in about 30s.
But I only use about 5 passwords so I don't need tech to remember them. Or ill just email them (sneakily rearranged) to myself so I can see them on other devices. And because I can never remember my email password then I've got a photo of that one in my secure folder .

But if you can remember your password it must not be a very strong one? Why not have a unique password for everything if you don't have to remember any?

Never got an email reply so I tried again with live chat. They kept me waiting half an hour while Bumfair held a high-level executive meeting to discuss my account, it reminded me of standing outside the headmaster's office waiting to be called in, but eventually my account was reactivated. I noticed on another thread, Michael had the same problem and it just took him five minutes to sort it out!
I asked if I can change my login email and they said no, you've already had multiple accounts! Only Bumfair would regard changing your email address as a new account! So I'm now stuck with an email address I've used on all sorts of things, even porn. Come to think of it, perhaps it is a suitable email address, I think I'll move my Bumfair bookmarks into my low-down porn folder.

That's better service than you get with PayPal, we had a PayPal business account locked down for nearly a month and you can't speak to anyone. Tbh I don't know what you want apart from champagne service at lemonade money. Everytime someone has a big panic it seems to be sorted in a few days.Derek27 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2023 12:55 pmNever got an email reply so I tried again with live chat.
