So, the EU and USA are sitting on $300 billion of seized Russian money and assets.

FML, just spend the lot on military aid and send it to Ukraine asap.

That would have Putin needing double extra nappies.

Not rocket science is it ?

😔
You cannot touch that money, it has to stay frozen. Unless of course you want to send the world into the worst downward economic spiral you could imagine.

That money still belongs to Russia, break that trust in the western banking system and there would be huge problems with countries in the western world servicing their debts.
The EU are discussing it over the next few days. Check the news.

I don’t think anyone in the West cares what Putin and/or Russia says on the issue.
These are dangerous times indeed.

It's likely only a matter of time before tactical nukes are used. As I understand they have a limited yield and are designed more to take out idividual districts or a have a more localised effect. I believe the naval equivalents are designed to take out aircraft carriers.
This seems to be set for a perfect storm, literally. Localised! ... who controls the weather?

Tactical nukes, rhetoric and hype. Bottom line - there is no such thing as a winnable war. It's always pyrrhic. War, what's it good for? Absolutely nothing!

I have just read a BBC report that the number of people in Absolute Poverty in the UK has risen directly due to price rises associated with the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

I know some people will try and dismiss it and say oh, it was covid, or it was the Tories, but the unprecedented price rises in recent times, has happened, following the sanctions placed on Russia that has driven Absolute Poverty in the UK up to 18%.

Russia was warned by the US about an imminent terrorist attack two weeks ago but that idiot in the Gremlin, Putin, ignored the warning.

He's now claiming that they fled to Ukraine and implying they have Ukrainian backing.

! agree the effect of Ukraine/Russia is huge. But I don't see any alternative to sanctions. Apart from some russian assassinating Putin. Sounds terrible doesn't it? But if the world coped with the assassination of JFK we could cope with Putin's demise, I think.

That’s so he can justify launching 100 tactical nukes against Kyiv and flatten the entire city and surrounding areas.

The internal security squad who countered the terrorist attack was stationed just three kilometers away, but it took them half an hour to arrive. Quite clever tactics from the terrorists, attacking at lunchtime!

Michael Clarke says he doesn't understand how Sergey Naryshkin, head of Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, stays in his job after all his security failings. Putin regularly humiliates him.

Surely that's why.

That he is now blaming Ukraine makes me wonder if the attack was conducted by Russians so they could point at Ukraine, I wouldn't put it past them ... lives in Russia are cheaper than politics!

Russia has become a place where honest journalism is forbidden, so we'll never know, unless it suits Putin's narrative. Pretty crap?

It’s bloody obvious the attack was carried out by members of the Wagner Group in revenge.

The Ukrainians that carried out the concert attack were speaking in Arabic.

As long as the US is ready we should be fine. :)
