Pretty sure in 1989 I was paid $6/hour as a storeman in a warehouse as my summer job. Unloaded a lot of ceiling tiles out of shipping containers. Very hot and dusty work. But the “hot girl” in the canteen next door made it all worthwhile. Not that I had the courage to ask her out but things worked well in my imagination.
