What an amazing spectacle that was, Adam Yates leading his brother Simon Yates to the line to win the first stage after both worked together to break away!!
Absolutely superb, elite sport at it's very best. Great to see two brothers from the UK take 1st and 2nd on the 1st stage of the Tourr de France.

Shame about Mas and Carapaz.
+1, was great to watch

especially once they'd covered the first 150m of that final bank and the chasing group had no chance of catching

Got to love the sprint finish. So much timing and tactics involved

Only watched the highlights yesterday as was out with the family for the day, bit of the Les Dennis and I'll be switching over to itv4 at 2pm.

Compelling watching so far, hopefully Cav's team mates can deliver him today and put him in with a chance.

Peloton on the chase. Looks like a sprint finish is on. But it will take a miracle for Cav to win.

Got a funny feeling this sprint could be properly messy. They're just crusing to the business end of the stage. All saving energy for the sprint lead out.

I'm only now just catching up on yesterdays highlights but that was one of the best run in's I've seen for any stage over recent years

Hats off to the course designers it really provided for a fantastic technical and tactical finish

Some bad crashes on the race track. Maybe a bit slippy in places, see what the riders say shortly.

5th for Cav is about right. Maybe there wer some surface issues but it's the same for everyone and several guys screwed up Particularly the last one. Crashing on a wide track in a straight line. That's a bit weird for me. Have to have a look at the rest of the stages for another opp for Cav, but he sounds a bit cheesed off.

EDIT: Cav's suggesting stage 7 and 8 might be possible wins.

That's what I thought bit weird 3 or 4 crashes on a pancake flat motor racing track.

Think Cav got a little caught out by the final lead out and kicking himself for it but he's been right up there last two days. Hopefully he can tuck himself up and get through these next two mountain stages and go again in Bordeaux in a few days time.

Another stunning finish and attack for Pocagar right back in the race.

Wout Van Art is sub-human an absolute machine.

Sub-human machine vs superhuman. I suspect you meant the latter. :) Missed it due to the cricket. Will catch the highlights though thx.
