I wonder what people think about
Starting local BA meet up groups

My thinking was to maybe help other BA users
Purely the practical and how to use the software
etc

Peter has done several meet and greet sessions since the lockdowns ended were BA users got a chance to meet him and each other in a relaxed environment, there's no planned dates on the next one just yet but I'm sure they will come up again in the future at some point

I'd be supportive of meet-ups as it's a lonely business. If somebody is willing to do some work to arrange a meeting and I'm available, I'd try and make an appearance.

Depending on how my scan goes, I may be up to doing something in the winter.

Me not acting my age!

I've got an ACL injury, so I'm unable to do much at the moment. Depending on the outcome of the scan, I'll know what the outlook is like.

Ah okay, sounded more ominous for a moment there. Hopefully you're back on the pitch soon :)

Based on initial assessment, it's 6-9 months. But an MRI scan will give a better idea of the exact nature of the injury.

Ouch, that's a proper footballer injury

Hope you bounce back sooner than that

Would love this.

Especially if Derek attends.

Attend if you want to help people

Thanks Peter

I was thinking maybe some people could get together
to share BA
Whether you want to attend or not
wouldnt have to involve why or not you wouldnt attend
Attend if willing to help others
The criteria really

Mate of mine did his ACL when he was 27/28 and it took 18 months for the GP to finally refer him to a consultant who diagnosed it in 10 minutes.
Had the op and was right as rain apart from some hamstring niggles (that's where they took the grat tissue from).
But, yes, it's 6 month plus rehab, but he's adamant that it's definitely worth doing if deemed necessary.
My mate played on through that 18 months and it let him down on a regular basis.

Could make it a yearly thing in roughly the most optimal place in the sporting calendar (democratic opinion as to when that is required)

Could vary the location each year to keep things interesting and provide some availability for the BA community outside UK, too.

re: Organisation, what exactly have people desired from previous meets beyond the basic?
Why not keep things informal/lightweight i.e. pick a public city venue — e.g. a large pub/restaurant type venue, which has good transport links and nearby hotel availability, and just have people make their own travel/accommodation arrangements.
16:00-22:00 sort of time frame in case people wanna arrive early/late
