Hi,

I have been aware of andysfootballtips for around 5 years from Witter. He came up on Instagram probably from the increase in traffic from the new season starting.

I am very sceptical of tipsters because they have deals with bookies and bookies don't want to lose money.

He has 190k followers on IG but his posts only receive around 5 or 6 comments which seems very odd.

Has anyone tried following his tips?

If he has 190K followers on Instagram he must be an expert.

I used to follow him on instagram. He did some good midweek trebles that would come up occasionally (short prices) but a lot were weird leagues like Norwegian/Slovakian/Paraguayan and you might not even find odds on them on bookies sites.

Don't take Instagram followers as a sign of success, you can buy 20k followers for under 100 quid/euro/dollars so less than 200k for probably 1500. Only takes a few subscribers at high prices to cover that and then he's in profit regardless of his tips.

Tipster-ing is a quick route to easy money but I'd rather keep my dignity and sell my used underpants on Onlyfans

If you've looked for tipsters/free tipsters/hot tips on shitter/insta/facebook etc then you're in the algorithm now and you'll see them forever more!

Most tipster accounts on social media are just there to drive affiliate business or get rewarded for promotion in some form, they could give a f**k if their tips win or not.

Guardian summary — “Revealed: how ‘fun’ social media accounts direct fans to betting giant” (9 May 2024)

* Popular accounts including @AndyRobsonTips and @BoringMilner are part of a marketing network linked to Fanwave Digital that directs followers to Paddy Power/Betfair.
* There isn’t a single real “Andy Robson”; the persona sits within Fanwave.
* “Andy’s Bet Club” is described in T\&Cs as a trading name of Fanwave Digital.
* Fanwave previously earned commission on bettor losses, then shifted to a cost-per-acquisition model paid when new accounts are opened via its links.
* The piece notes limited public disclosure/performance records and that winners are highlighted more than losers.
* Campaigners at Gambling With Lives criticise the tight weave between football content and gambling promotion on social media.
* Fanwave says it complies with regulations, promotes responsible gambling and low stakes, and that the original “Andy Robson” creator still drives the brand with team support.
* Paddy Power confirms it runs affiliate programmes and has an exclusive relationship with two Fanwave accounts.

Glorified click farmers dressed up as experts

Imagine if everyone could deduce the irony behind that concept

Why bother? If you already know the results

"I bet for entertainment, any profit is a bonus."

What's he really saying there is he's guaranteed to profit either way, while aynthing you might gain is just a little bonus
