When i try to connect to excel from BA i get the following message.....
Unable to open Excel - Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {00024500-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} failed due to the following error: 80040154
Does this make any sense to anyone?
Unable to connect to excel via Bet Angel
A quick search on Google reveals that that this means Windows cannot find Excel. I would uninstall Excel and re-install it again.
If you are using Excel 2010 I know you need a local install of this. The new virtualisation install from Microsoft will give you that error.

I got my copy of Office pre-installed on my pc and dont have a hard copy. The only way i can re-install it is by downloading it from Microsoft's website which i've already tried but it still doesnt work.
Do you think this is whats causing the problem?

Have seen similar when (1)XLS was being accessed via a Server and not installed locally and (2)when programs (in your case BA & XLS) were being run locally yet off different partions. In short BA and XLS need to both be run from your PC HDD and both need to be run off the same partion - eg C:\. Best I can do for you.
