Hi
Im just wanting to ask why there is not more money backing the US races?
It seems such a shame to let so many races go without "trading" them!?
Is Betfair active in the US?

Hi Elcapitain
It's because of the online gambling laws in the States - it's illegal to use Betfair over there.
Walk down the street carrying an AK47 - no problem! Place an online bet though, and you get arrested!
Funny old world...

Yea that seems totally insane!
Not such the Land of the Free then!
The betting system in the US is totally different too, where they don't use odds or something.
Still, such a shame to let so many races go to waste!

The site is back now, been terrible all day, very sluggish.
sorry to resurrect this thread. is it my imagination, are the us races attracting more volume then this time last year?
messing around with a spread sheet earlier testing on us racing because of the frequency of races. there seemed to be quite large volumes coming in approx 90 or so secs before betfair suspended then last time i looked at them ( about 1 year ago).

I occasionally trade them, and the volume has picked up a bit.
fingel lake 19:57 race7 several minutes ago had 53000 matched at suspend.
last at para 20:01 race 2 had 17750 matched at suspend.
earlier in the evening probably 2nd or 3rd at fingel lake i think it had over 120000 matched near to suspend, cant be sure as i was messing with excel, and i must have thought i was imagining it, but i was watching various races on and off, and quite a few had matched volumes at suspend in the range 15000 to 25000.

To be fair to betfair Only usually because the race has been started before the scheduled off time.Ferru123 wrote:They are, but anyone who is thinking of trading them should be aware that Betfair sometimes suspend them before the scheduled off...
