Greetings from Melbourne - there has been a strong move here today for Basaltico - $50 into $25 - does anyone know anything about its form? the track here (Flemington) tomorrow (Aust time) will not be soft - there might be some rain but it has been so dry that it is unlikely to be softer than a Dead 3 - and that only after they water it tonight.
Appreciate any info.

There was about $97 million bet all up on the Cup on the 3 Totalisators in Australia - probably another $50 million held by bookmakers.
The Melbourne Cup in Australia is equivalent to your Grand National - even people who don't bet week by week have a flutter on the Cup.
Don't forget to trade on Oaks Day on the Thursday - the liquidity won't match Cup Day - but that should make trading a bit easier.
BTW - the move on Basaltico came to nothing!
