haa.... you're miles ahead :)

I couldn't trade Rand, Morp due to T.O charge.
I thought it would be applicable to you too?

You can think your way around it, and synthetically back horses.

that's fantastic! Almost £490 on tha Aus racing; I didn't realise there was that much opp. Definetly worth a look!

Yes on the group races where there is decent liquidity. Otherwise it is just mucking around and a way to while away the hours.

Thanks
I know virtually nothing about UK horse racing let alone Aus racing. is there an easy way to identify the group races from guardian?
Coincidentally, I was looking through Betfair.data last night and there were some things that jumped off the page related to Aus.
I have traded these markets in the past, but will take another look at them.
Thanks
regards
Peter
Edit: Guess I could filter guardian on liquidity ?

But that's not really true, is it.

I did think of something like that this Jan. I remember talking to Euler about it. The idea was simple:

If I (or with somebody's help) could come up with a way to form an 'Index' (think like S&P500, FTSE500) and group the money and odds of the some front runners (especially if they're moving counter to each other) then that would reduce the overall volatility and....

Though, thanks for sparking that idea back to me again. I'll fiddle again to find something.

Well if you compare me with Jolly or people with similar skills, then yes it is
If you ask me whats the difference between a maiden and a handicap then yes I can explain that

The Australian races with ante-post betting will show you the main Group 1's.

They're every Saturday now until 9th Nov. Plus Wednesday 16th Oct at Caulfield and of course Tues 6th Nov for the Melb cup and Thurs 8th Nov the Oaks.

Others likely worth involvement may be Geelong Cup Wed 23rd Oct and Bendigo Cup 30th Oct. Also the Moonee Valley night meeting Fri 25th Oct.

To a lesser extent some other Victorian country cups on Sundays during the same period.

Some good racing at Caul tomorrow.

Shame I'll be stuck at day-job.

Good Luck, hope you have a great time trading it.
A wonderful opportunity to warm up for the big trading session on Saturday afternoon (Aus time).

The session was going fine until my ticket got called in.
Not a bad session overall cause I know I can do much better now if I can stay away from the big danger.

Irony was that I managed my biggest green and red on a single trade back to back...haa.

Interesting I also received the call today.

Horse Racing / Caul (AUS) 19th Oct : R4 2000m Grp3 19-Oct-13 14:00 19-Oct-13 14:05 -437.76

I didn't allow it to influence my mindset.

I remembered this quote that headed part of the recent Gladwell book I reviewed.

"And to keep me from being puffed up and too much elated by the exceeding greatness (preeminence) of these revelations, there was given me a thorn (a splinter) in the flesh, a messenger of Satan, to rack and buffet and harass me, to keep me from being excessively exalted."
