Is there any town on the Australian map that doesn't have a racecourse? ;)
There’s 124 official racecourses in New South Wales. 🤔

Following more than 25mm of rain overnight and the forecast of heavy rainfall throughout the rest of today, Racing NSW Stewards and The Australian Turf Club have postponed today's Longines Golden Slipper meeting at Rosehill Gardens.

Good morning from a very soggy Sydney.

It’s all looking very thin today. Sydney slipper carnival cancelled. No Melbourne metro meeting (only Mornington). Eagle farm and Ascot have never been kind to me.

Revised program for Sydney racing - https://twitter.com/racing_nsw/status/1 ... 05089?s=20

And the rain forecast just keeps intensifying. 90 mm - 150 mm now or 3.5 to 6 inches in the old. And it’s absolutely hammering down for me here now so I fully believe it.

How much rain would the track at Eagle Farm need to receive to be abandoned? It's drainage capacities are astonishing.

When they opened the first new version they said it could cop 100mm an hour and still race, Its actually got drainage below the surface.. which is the main reason trainers are boycotting it for being too firm

I'm not sure they'd be running next door at Doomben. A heavy 10 at very best.

There's another big band of rain coming through early next week so could be some quiet days

Goulburn now abandoned.

Why are they running Alice Springs at the same time as Avoca? Absurd.

I've found NT tend to do what they like, more often than not the times of the races will change from advertised

Only if there's a cancelled meeting, usually (although they did bring the whole meeting forward today to try to get the meeting finished before a forecast downpour later)

It's worth a lot of $ if they can get reprogrammed to the red channel.

So far today Alice Springs has managed to run on the blue screen with the split screen and without audio. Not easy for an in-play trader

At least Sky Racing have no reason to put the secondary Victorian meeting on the blue channel if it's delayed by about 5 seconds today. I am pretty sure they do this just to shove it up Racing Victoria for the creation of Racing.com (channel 68/78).

Good news.

The sun is shining in to my office and tomorrow’s five group 1s look all set to go.

Hope all Aussie forum members survived the deluge on the eastern seaboard.
