I'm very new to Sports trading and was wondering if anyone knew of any good blogs written by successful betfair traders.
I've seen Adam Heathcote's blog, are there any other good ones?
Many thanks
Amandeep
The Best Betfair Traders?
You could try Mugs blog he started recently. Lots of vids and detailed commentary of exactly how he trades.

are you sure, considering this person recommended the guys running the below link, without initially saying that he knew them, which is a bit offside, by anyones standardsRinoa wrote:You could try Mugs blog he started recently. Lots of vids and detailed commentary of exactly how he trades.

He may be a good trader but his recommendations are not, 1 correct prediction from 10, yeah stick to trading, couldnt tip a waitress.

Having not read too much of mugsgame football stuff, I assumed his use of the site that haichless dislikes was as a basis for his data gathering; a lot of the data he looks at, as already been collected by them, so saves him time. I may be wrong; if I am someone will hopefully correct me.
As someone who can trade horse races, I would recommend anyone who wishes to get into trading horse races, to spend as much time as they can on his site, and especially watching his vids. I have only seen about 25 or so, so far (I believe he as 70 plus so far), and he can TRADE.
He explains in very simple plain terms his rational behind everything he does, be it successful, unsuccessful or a mistake. He is very honest and makes no exaggerated claims.
Wish a similar blog was around 8/9 years ago when I started, would have saved me a load of time.
It is without any doubt in my mind, the best resource available for new and inexperienced traders there is, and it gives experienced traders such as myself something useful to reflect on so to speak.
All for free. You aint gonna get better.

i dont dislike the site, i however do question the integrity of a person that will recommend a site without stating he knows the people. and advertise it ona site..considering the results of the sites published recommendations ,it sort of leads me to question other things..
but hey what ferk do i know...
i am not worthy,i bow to rampant capitalism, everyone follow and sign up, no matter what, its all good...

That is the only decent thing you have said about this subject.haichless wrote: i am not worthy,
My grandad always used to say that one of the worst traits that anybody could show is jealousy and you have shown that in abundance, very sad indeed.
Congratulations on driving away one of the best contributors to this forum, you should be very proud of yourself

How you can seriously question the integrity of somebody who is giving so much for nothing is beyond me.
Anyway OP I too would strongly recommend that you take a look at Mugsgame's Blog and watch his videos as you will learn a lot from them.

Well said Online Trader. As a novice I have found itsamugsgame site very educational. If you had followed his weekend football bets you would be in the money. Sounds like someone has a chip on their shoulder.
Any new trader should also visit BetangelTV of course.

I'm with OT on this one.
Mugs has been around a while. I dont know him personally;but this is what I do know:-
- He's a full time profitable trader and has been for six/seven years
- He pays Premium Charge at the higher rate (So he has passed the 250K profit line) ie he knows what he is talking about
He took time to answer an email i sent him, some time ago and pointed me in a direction that I hadn't been before (with success).
Yes, he does have the odd rant, but generally the advice he has given has been welcomed by all. He's a decent guy and I've heard his name mentioned positively mentioned outside this forum.
You seem to have taken a dislike to him for some reason? When he says that he has met some of the guys behind the website, it doesn't mean that he has any ulterior motive nor financial.
Click on his name in the members section and read his past posts.I've (like many others) have learned things from him and expect you will too
Regards
Peter

I'm in Haichless's corner!
It's all starting to look a bit spammy if you ask me. lots of new accounts popping up on the forum asking obvious feeder questions, other new accounts pointing them in the way of some blog which doesn't really tell you anything of any use though has links to other subscription websites and lots of email address and data collecting going on and some sort of 'inside track' subscription service from another self acclaimed trading genius!!
Where do I send my cheque??!!

Randomness means that you will have long series of winners and long series of losers. Most people don't realise that, and quit as soon as they hit a series of losers.haichless wrote: He may be a good trader but his recommendations are not, 1 correct prediction from 10
What effect do you think that will have on people reading it? Do you think it will put a smile on people's faces? Or do you think people will think 'How condescending and unpleasant', or words to that effect?haichless wrote:yeah stick to trading, couldnt tip a waitress.
The reason I enjoy visiting this forum is precisely because there is so little of that kind of sarcasm, which is so rife elsewhere...

Do you seriously think that somebody that is paying the top rate of premium charge on Betfair is concerned about making a few £ through affiliate sales, if you do then the word deluded comes to mind....oscar123 wrote:I'm in Haichless's corner!

Also have you considered the amount of time that it takes for somebody to produce videos and maintain a blog... obviously not otherwise you would not have made these comments.
True British spirit as always "let's put down anyone or anything that is successful" .... pathetic.
I imagine somebody paying the top rate of premium charge would be very keen indeed to explore other ways if making money as they will be making up to 60% less money than they used to. That's quite a big chunk of income that has gone missing.
And, yes, I also imagine that it would take up quite a lot of time and effort to write and record a blog like that, which would also lead me to assume that the main motivation for doing so would ultimately be financial gain.
I am not deluded, neither could I really care less about the mans motives. I just think that it is unfair that everybody has decided to jump on one man who has chosen to question, with good reason in my opinion, the reasons behind and true merits of this blog.
I like the bet angel software and have used it for many years. I also enjoy the bet Angel blog, and this is the only forum on the Internet that I read.
However, all I have read for the last 2 months is a huge number of links to the said blog, lots of questions from 'new posters' who seem to join the forum just to ask where they can find a good blog, and a huge number of endorsements of what great trader and respected poster the said person is! It just all looks a bit smelly if you ask me, especially considering the links with other subscription websites.
Have a nice day,
A mean spirited deluded British man!

That argument would work if there were big money to be made from an affiliate link on someone's betting blog, but I imagine that Mugs can make in a single race more than he'd make all year from that revenue stream. So the idea that he'd devote hours and hours to a blog just to make a couple of quid on the site doesn't ring true.oscar123 wrote:I imagine somebody paying the top rate of premium charge would be very keen indeed to explore other ways if making money as they will be making up to 60% less money than they used to. Remember that we're talking about a guy who claims to have taken over a million quid out of Betfair over the years (and I believe him)...
I am a big fan of people approaching things with a critical mindset. But if someone is giving a gift to their community, there's something to be said for keeping one's cynicism to oneself. We're talking here about a betting blog, not a politician awarding a contract to his mate!oscar123 wrote:I just think that it is unfair that everybody has decided to jump on one man who has chosen to question, with good reason in my opinion, the reasons behind and true merits of this blog.
