Should each race be enabled with a time for fill or kill?
Really not sure. Bets usually get matched right away but is there a situation where profit could be lost without enabling this.

It depends on the type of trading your doing and personal preference so there is no right or wrong.
ie, If your swing trading and taking a price then there is no need to use the fill / kill
if your scalping and offering money to the market it can be handy to use especially if your trading on several runners
If you are using it the time you select would depend on the market, for the bigger meets with higher volumes a longer time will be needed otherwise you will have to resubmit the order at the back of the que if it expires.
Just experiment and find what works best for what your doing
