Hi,

I am learning to trade horses pre-race and in play. My strategy is to find front runners to back and then lay in play.

I back them and then after the off place a lay bet to green up at a 50% profit, e.g. 75% of my back price.

If it isn't filled I try to place a lay bet for the same stake above the market to close that trade BUT so as NOT to green up (red up?) and so that I only lose money if that horse goes on to win.

I am sure however that sometimes my first lay bet is being left in the market and being filled in the final couple of furlongs when it's a close finish, causing me to lose money.

Questions; what are the standard BetAngel settings for when you press "Close trade for this predicted profit" under the "Trade profit" column in the One-Click screen? Is it not set to cancel all unmatched bets in the market when I click there, and if not can I set it to do so?

Also is there a way I can set bets in the ladder placed pre-race to stay in the market after the off? Similar to the "go in-play" option on Betfair?

Help appreciated!

If you go into settings > edit settings > Behaviour and make sure the box is ticked for "Cancel a selections unmatched bets when closing a trade"

For unmatched bets you can choose to "Keep bets" or "Take SP" further details here in the user guide

Thanks for the reply mate!

One more, do you know if it's possible to get a scale for the x (time) axis on the betfair price and volume charts? Or what the units are by default?

Except for selecting the refresh times on the chart itself you cant customize the standard Betfair chart as its a feed displayed in Bet Angel directly from the Betfair site and displays the market since opening.
You can use the Bet Angel advanced chart options and create a similar chart where you will be able to set the time / volume etc to your requirements

These links should help
