Why the market is suspended during inplay?

This suspension is very annoying...the price always go sky high / rock bottom when it resume.
What is causing it? Thanks

All races are suspended at the off and return a few seconds later. All pre off orders (apart from Keep orders) are cancelled so the market has no pricing for a few seconds and the new prices reflect what sort of a start a horse had.

I assume you are talking about racing?

Yes I am talking about racing.

Sorry maybe I didnt make myself clear, I meant during inplay, could be 2mins inplay, then the market just suddenly suspended, then a few seconds later it is back on, very strange.

p.s. I am not watching it live so maybe I have missed something.

Most likely a photo finish, if a race ends with a close finish the betting is opened up for people to bet on who they think the winner is based on the photo.
