Help With Simple Automation

Hi

What I would like to accomplish is to be able to lay the 2nd horse in a race whose odds go below 2.0

eg

1st horse goes odds on ignore it, 2nd or perhaps 3rd horses go odds on then lay them for a fixed amount.

Any ideas on the easiest way to do this ?

Do you mean just to lay which ever horse has traded below 2.0 regardless at which point of the race or only when there is a 2nd runner or more below 2.0 at the same time?

ie for example

in a 3 horse race, in-running

in this sequence

horse A's odds dip below 2 - ignore this and place no bet

horse B's odds then go below 2 - fire a lay bet on this selection.

horse C's odds then maybe go below 2 - fire a lay bet on this selection

so I need the automation to understand which horse and order they have gone below odds of 2 and act only on the 2nd occasion and maybe 3rd occassion

The easiest way is to use whats known as a "Marker Bet" so on the first horse below you would trigger a lay and place at @ 1.01 using a 1 sec fill or kill so this has no chance of being matched and is cancelled almost instantly.

General
Place lay Bet
allow rule to trigger 1 time
applies to "By position (sorted in order of favourtism) 1"

Parameters
Place at "Fixed price" 1.01
Stake (any amount)
Tick "Place fill or kill" with 1 sec delay

Conditions
"Fixed odds Condition"
"By position (sorted in order of favourtism) 1
"Last traded price"
is "Less than" 2.0

Then create another rule type by clicking on the green plus icon to lay the other runners if there odds trade below 2.0

General
Place lay Bet
allow rule to trigger 5 times
applies to "By position (sorted in order of favourtism) 1

Parameters
Place at (choose odds you want)
Stake (any amount)

Conditions
"Fixed odds Condition"
"By position (sorted in order of favourtism) 1
"Last traded price"
is "Less than" 2.0

"Number of place bets triggers condition"
on "Selection"
is "equal" to 0

That will ensure the 1st runner is ignored from this rule and each subsequent runner that goes below 2.0 will be layed (only once).

Have done the description but no bets appear to be firing ? Even the initial 1.01 bet doesn't fire ?

Do I have to set "rule trigger times" ?

Its probably something ridiculously simple im doing wrong

It could be a number of things but as your 1st bet is nt firing what ever it is will be something simple.
Have you set your arm trigger time correct? - they should look something like

Relative to in-play time
00:00:01 after event goes in-play
00:10:00 after event goes in-play

Also when the race starts or just before it starts do you have the market open on a main trading screen or are they left running in the background in guardian?
