Hello Dallas
Yesterday, I set up a Lay Bet on Guardian Automation as follows:
General: Place Lay Bet
Parameters: Best Market Price
Condition: Fixed Odds condition
Current selection in position 4 in order of favouritism
The selection's Lay Price
is less than 12
On at least one occassion Betfair triggered at much higher odds such as 64.38. Fortunately the selection was unplaced. Is this normal?
Could the reason be that the race had insufficient liquidity as it was a Harness type race? Or could it be because I had a selected "Best Market Price" and that 64.38 was the best?
What do you suggest I do differently?
Thank you.

Yes its bescause you specified "Best Market price" so after its triggered if the price shoots straight out it will match you at the best price regradless how high it is.
Doing this type of laying your best off selecting a "Fixed price" on the parameters page that way you can set the max price your willing to lay at if there is any thing lower and better when your order hits the market you will get matched at those odds - but you have the security of knowing it will only place to a certain price

Dallas, would it be worth mentioning that using a Fixed Price would obviously mean that there's a chance that on many occasions, the trade wouldn't get matched. This of course 9/10 may be the more desirable option anyway in this case.Dallas wrote:Yes its bescause you specified "Best Market price" so after its triggered if the price shoots straight out it will match you at the best price regradless how high it is.
