This happens every year with both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness - Betfair don't have the rights to those tracks for the exchange.
The good news is, BETDAQ have a market and there's plenty of liquidity in it - half an hour before the race and there's 13K matched and no big gaps.

The Irish 1,000 Guineas is going to trade amazingly well. Group 1 race the second race of the day With 35 mins gap between the first race of the day. No clashes! Hopefully Minding gets beat and that will set up a day with some excellent moves and some favourite backers chasing the favourites all day. The race is tradeable now 2 hours out! Act peeps!

I have a sneaky feeling that they were seriously layed up as it looked as serious drifter one stage. Then there was support beneath the money making it look a bet.gutuami wrote:amazing 100k back bet @ 1.6 - all matched and lost

I dont know... just didnt look a bet to me.
I saw it came into the market having a little matched and becoming ~99k. when it proved to be real I started camtasia.SeaHorseRacing wrote:I have a sneaky feeling that they were seriously layed up as it looked as serious drifter one stage. Take away a couple of the stake races in Ireland... The markets are very very weak!

I think it was probably just scare money. The flashing lights are not always true of what is actually being matched. Heaven forbid if it was someone sticking a 100K and slowly matching down their own money to control the speed of the market and get positions filled
. I doubt many people on here were laying into the 100K as it sat there and as BF punters go to the sport book, i doubt much of what was happening was real.

I have notice some suspicious Jockey bookings this evening which could lead for a nice trade.
Daniel Muscutt is an apprentice Jockey for Marco Botti (Future champion trainer)
Marco Botti has one horse entered tonight 8.50 Kempton- KURIOSA.. Daniel has ridden this horse the last 3 times... However all of a sudden he's taken off the ride.. which is now ridden by Luke Morris. Luke Only has 2 booked rides. Kuriosa is being massively upped in trip. Is this a gamble or a job to get the handicap rating down?
Daniel Muscutt has one booked ride for James Fanshawe 7.20 Kempton- GOTHIC EMPIRE.
Gothic Empires last couple of runs was ridden by Daniel Muscutt however.. If you saw the race its looked like a non trier to me. The horse has made later headway on a few of his last starts and has it been planned for today? Either way Newmarket to Kempton is a bit of a drive for an apprentice for 1 ride. No other booked rides today either.
My point is. I cannot pinpoint it but I think a gamble may happen on either of these.. I am not sure which one. However I do think one maybe laid out to win this evening.
Why is Daniel booked for GOTHIC EMPIRE... Seems a long way to go for a badly drawn horse who you think doesnt really have much of a chance on its previous poor runnings. Yet hes not booked to ride KURIOSA for his stable.
Extremely strange behaviour. Interesting!
I think there could be a nice trade here and I am going to back to lay both of them in running and keep an eye out for a good pre race trade.
Extra added note I missed: GOTHIC EMPIRE was a prominent/front runner on all starts.. However hes been in the rear on his last 2 starts.
