Well for me there is only one way to look at this race and that is to ignore the 2nd favourite Showcasing. Whenever I look at a card the first horse I am looking to eliminate is the favourite and then the 2nd favourite and so on.

This horse is easy to strike out because it's a 3 year old and they have a terrible record when taking on older horses at this time of year. Some people say that it's a false statistic because not many 3 year olds contest this race. I would partially accept that but would add that not many contest it because trainers and connections know it is very hard to beat the older horses at this time of the year. The younger horses do not get the larger weight for age allowances they need to be competitive. The last 3yo to win this race was Sampower Star in 1999..that's a long time ago :?

The Aussies have sent over Starspangledbanner and he is under the care of Aiden O'Brien. We don't know how good this horse is but however speedy he is, it will be difficult for him to carry a 5lb penalty and win. I think he is being aimed at Royal Ascot and this is a race of discovery for all concerned.

This is a tough race to solve so I will be looking to catch a nice drift on Showcasing when the other layers start getting stuck into this 3 year old....hopefully :P
