This morning I'm playing around with a race at Ascot. I thought I'd got BA set correctly, but now have no idea what has happened

I set it up as "Offset bet with greening"
Offset ticks set to 2
My bet size was £10
I backed Churchill at 2.24, and could see the Lay waiting to go in at 2.2
I backed Cunco at 5.4, and could see the Lay waiting to go in at 5.2
(See screenshot, although this was captured a minute or 2 later when I thought something was wrong)

A few mins after placing the back bets, the Lay prices went to what I hoped they would and my Lay bets disappeared from the queue. I just captured the message for 1 of the Lay bets going in (see screenshot)

However, looking now at my matched bets, all I have is a £10 back bet on each horse, but at prices of 2.18 and 5.25. No Lay bets

There are also no unmatched bets showing on Betfair

How have I messed up ?

If you were looking to keep the lay bets when the race goes inplay, you will need to make an extra rule to keep all unmatched bets and have it trigger before the race starts.

If you don't do this all unmatched bets will be canceled when the race starts.

Possibly a withdrawn/non-runner horse affected your bets. What are your "Behaviour" settings for unmatched bets?

Thanks, but, I placed these Saturday morning and the race isn't due off for another 3 - 4 hours.
It's almost as though the lay bets went in but didn't get matched, so were immediately cancelled. Also, the back bets aren't at the prices that I clicked on (and there was very little market movement earlier today)

Knome, that's it. A non-runner. Thanks
My Back bets went in at just after 10:00 this morning. I just checked and a non-runner was declared at 10:10
I better look up these Behaviour settings I guess

Two runners have been withdrawn from this market. At that point it gets re-priced and outstanding positions are cancelled.

By the way. I'm an ignorant noob so my Betdaq/Bet Angel Behaviour settings may not be the same as the Betfair ones.

looking at your picture , i noticed you have fill or kill set to 0.5 secounds but unchecked this will place your bet in the market but cancel any unmatched remaining bet , check your settings make sure fill or kill is checked and set to a number of secounds you need. I hope this helped.

Eddy, thanks for pointing this out. I just read up about the "fill or kill" and now I'm somewhat confused by this (more reading needed I think).

From reading the user guide, would I be right in saying that if I had checked the place fill or kill box, and of my original £10 back bet, only £5 got matched, then Bet Angel would have cancelled the other £5 and adjusted the corresponding lay bet accordingly ?

Conversely, by not checking the box, if only £5 of my back bet had been matched, what would have happened to the lay bet that was sat there waiting ? Would it have been automatically adjusted ?
