I always thought the favourite for any event, showed up as Row 1, but I'm messing around with some automation in practice mode on some weird football matches and it's quite often not the case, as per the screenshot. Is Row 1 not a good idea if you intend to back the favourite ?
(The match was still 0-0 when i took the screenshot)
Order of Favourites in Betfair
Row 1 is not exclusively for the Favourite, In football the home team is always in Betfair Row 1.
If you want to automate the fav you need to use 'In Position 1 (sorted in order of favourtism). Unless you also use the "Fix Market order" rule type the fav will often change throughout the market as its regarded as the one who's best back odds are the the current lowest.

Ok, so if I want to add the Fix the Order of the Market Selections, do I now add a 3rd rule to the automation (in addition to the back bet, and the green up rules) ?
If yes, then I'm not sure how to set this up, as in do I need to specify rule trigger times, conditions etc ?

Yes thats right.
There is no parameters or conditions required and you would set it to trigger just once, from the moment it triggers regardless how the odds move it will remember the order of favourtism.
For what your doing triggering it just before K.O would be the best time.

Hello,
I was wondering if someone could help me please, I'm trying to set up a bet Angel automation rule, what I'm trying to achieve is below.
Target races with only 8-12 runners.
Back 3rd and 4th favourite literally just before the off.
If there is a horse trading 0.05 below or above 3rd and 4th I want to back that aswell.
I want to back 3rd and 4th fave both with 1 point each e.g £1 on each
If they lose, I then want to target the next race with 8-12 runners and back 3rd and 4th fave with 2 points on each.
I want bet Angel to continue this until I get a winner or have 6 races that have lost and then stop, can bet Angel do this on automation?
thanks, Stef

AFAIK, BA does not yet allow you to compare one markets' results to another. Each rule you create is an atomic unit and treats the market as such, therefore what you are requesting is not in place out of the box. There will be an excel solution out there somewhere however, tho again you will be at the mercy of the bets being settled in order to move onto the next event seemlessly and to plan.
Just my observation. Martingale staking has been proven time and again to offer no edge on the market and unless you have something really special up your sleeve (maybe you have

Good luck and hopefully someone with excel integration experience will be able to point the way.
