I suspect Peter didn't and was just posting it for information purposes. It would have been due to the Reduction Factor from the withdrawn horse causing some bets to have odds of less than 1.01 and thus are changed to 1.01.magic2973 wrote:Euler wrote:

Yeah, must have been a strange edge case for Betfair. I got an email today saying that they had a 'technical issue' settling the market and applying the reduction factor, and that I've been credited to correct the mistake. I got over £300! Can't complain about that one!andyfuller wrote:I suspect Peter didn't and was just posting it for information purposes. I wonder if they've had to remove money from anyone. Wouldn't be happy about that!

My best every days trading yesterday. My losses were 0.08% of my profits. Hoping this is the turning point of reaching my next target. Although racing was the nuts yesterday.
I knew a few people that got really badly stung on that. It's a surprise to see Betfair credit people while not address those that really got caught out.xitian wrote:Yeah, must have been a strange edge case for Betfair. I think the horse racing is un trade-able today. Just going to enjoy the final and wait and see if an opportunity arises. Apart from that really dissapointing

I didn't know about it til betfair emailed me late on Saturday to say there was a problem and they'd credited my account with a few hundred. When I checked they'd settled the market late on friday as a loser and the re-credit was about £1 less. I was out on friday and most of my stuff is automated anyway so rarely check pnl until the end of week. I'm guessing it was a late non runner. Hopefully it'll save me a few quid in PC charges with the race being settled as a loserEuler wrote:I knew a few people that got really badly stung on that. Hi *****,
Just to let you know, we had a couple of technical issues when we settled yesterday's 17:40 race at Navan.
As a result of this, some matched bets did not have a reduction factor applied, and therefore your liabilities as a layer in the market would have been incorrect.
We have now topped up your account with the appropriate amount, which will be visible on your account statement for you to see next time you log in.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused, hopefully we have contacted you before you have had to contact us.
