Laying then doubling the lay at lower odds?

Was browsing online and noticed that some people like to lay at certain odds then instead of exiting when they drop further they double the lay before hitting the stop loss further down the line.

For example,

Underdog takes early lead in football match in 10th minute.

Lay @ 4 for £100
Lay @ 2.5 for £200
maybe a further lay for £400

Stop loss around 1.50-1.80

Just wondered if anyone on here uses a similar strategy and what were the main benefits of it? if any?

What I do is double backing under goals . If for example I do back under 3.5 goals and the goal come to early before I get out I double back after goal. It`s very profitable.

Hiya

I do occasionally lay again if the price goes the wrong way and also the same applies to back ie if you lay at 4 and it goes to 2 then you can lay again the average you have layed at is now 3 so you should be able to get back out, basically it brings your average down for a lay or increases it for a back. Not sure I have explained that well but hope it helps.
