I have to admit that I've had very few regrets of getting into sports trading. The one downside is the mortgage / credit viewpoint (as mentioned on that other thread), but that's out-weighted by all the positives. Now bearing in mind that I started with automation since the beginning (back in 2010) my positives are:

I'm my own boss and work as many or few hours as I like
I currently earn a lot more than I did in the office
I rely on zero employees
I have zero customers
I started with next to zero capital (about £500)
I can work from anywhere

July was another record for me, but I actually spent about 3 weeks of it abroad on holiday. I try to keep myself grounded though, and don't ever believe things will stay the same (for better or worse). I've more recently come to terms with the fact that this is my career now though. In the past I've kept telling myself (and others) that this is only a temporary thing, but in reality until I can think of a better way (reward vs effort vs risk) to make a living then I'll just continue.

Like Peter, I expect if Betfair no longer exists then there will be some other platform or market.
