Cartmel 15:25 just went off 7 mins late as well, not good when you don't have pics .

I had a good chuckle at that as well. Think the Jocks where in the wrong to be fair to the starter.

Personally I'd like to see a rolling gate start for the jumps but this might not work for all courses.

Somedays the racing goes like clockwork then other days I watch thinking that Sid James et all are running the show

It did produce a nice trade though! But the day could turn into a bit of a shambles if the races don't get back on time.

The reason I said about him punching him was that it was clear it was going to be a false start but also clear that he had no chance of stopping through no fault of his own.

The jockey could have had a real bad injury with the tape wrapping around him and the horse. One day a horse is going to buck and kick out when the tape is wrapped up around it like that and will get the jockey - I know of an incident where someone was killed when a horse bucked and kicked out when something got wrapped around its hind legs.

There was nothing to stop the starter releasing the tape for safety and waving his flag.

As I say sooner or later we are going to get a serious injury.
